  • Weapon smithing to 250?

Because I despise farming greens for my tradeskills if I don't have to, I was looking at some other options.

Armors tend to be more expensive and not much worthwhile to 250.

Weapons can go to 250 but I've done Yttrium and really don't care to go thru trying to spend two years getting tempers to actually skill up on.

Tae Ew Weapons look like a good bet. I can get blood at a decent rate and the rest of the tempers are fairly easy also.

Has anyone gone this route? What sort of skill up rate did you have? Are there other options? Black acrylia is doable but akheva blood is alot worse to get then tae ew blood from what I've found.

Just looking for info and opinions. Thanks in advance.

Not sure what race you are, but I've been doing profitable cultural smithing since my skill hit 220-ish. No farming. Since LDoN smithing will get you up to 212 for very little money, there are only really 8 skill points to plow through in between.

Assuming that cultural smithing is a viable option for you. I'm a dark elf.

      Wood elf. No cultural.
      Current skill is 220.
I'm not interested in making a profit but don't want to spend more then 100pp per combine for skill up attempts.

Tae Ew is a fairly good choice then.. Either the Weapons or the Armor. I know you are not worried about profit but I can tell you that MANY Shaman, Rogues and Rangers love the Tae Ew Tunic because of the boost in stats. Get yourself 10 saphires, 5 poison Vials and 10 Tae Ew Blood, ask a chanter casting KEI in POK if they will Mass Distill mana for you and Bang you will have up too 5 attempts at weapons or Armor (Depending on your success brewing).

Also the Tae Ew Shield is a good route to attemp as well. Store bought items for the most part and depending on your level most of the Blood you need is farmable in Chardok, Seb and Dulok (Iksar blood).

        Hope this helps

I know you said you don't want to do it, but if you just get someone with a point blank AE to go to accompany you to Hollowshade you can get 100 or so of both substances in no time. Then go buy swirling shadows in the bazaar for 50pp each (will hit that 100pp per combine you wanted) and you are gtg.

Also, if you are have the flags for the smithing portion of the Aid Grimel quest, cleanse BPs from 220-227.
