  • LDoN Smithed Armor question

What are people finding are the "in-demand" items for the LDoN armors?

I have done tons of adventures and have lots of tempers in my inventory. I would like to make the armor items that people want, and will sell for decent amounts. So, what do people seem to want to buy, and what are you all charging?

    Thanks!!

LDoN armor doesn't seem to be a huge market, (and certainly not a very profitable one) but I do sell Gothic Steel and Sandblasted at a steady rate. The small sizes seem to be the most popular, with small Sandblasted greaves selling the fastest by far.

As for pricing, I have trouble selling any of it if I go over 150pp for the three sheet items, so I really only make a profit if I farm the temper components myself or find a great deal on them.

I've sold about 100 pieces of LDoN armor and have another 100 or so on a new holding mule with a bank full of handmade backpacks. My temper components came 99% from vendor diving, so I had 75% goblin bones and smatterings of all the others down to about 2% sand verbina.

Skilling up from 198 to my current 206, I did almost exclusively calcified plate - with equal numbers of all three sizes. Since I've been past the 2 sheet trivial for a little while, I'm getting close to being sold out of my 2 sheet items - down to 2 helms, 2 gloves, but I still have 15 cloaks... hmm. Size wise, the medium sells best for me, with large being second, and small a close third.

Now that I'm working on three sheet items, I've been using my more rare tempers and selling those armors for a mark up over the calcified steel. They're selling - particularly the sandblasted (to my fellow clerics - heck, I swapped in a set of arms and sold my donals) - but slower. (shrug) I'm patient. I'm making a small profit on the calcified and an ok profit on the others. Glad to see my bank account moving up while in a skill-up run stage rather than plummeting down.

As an end user of Gothic plate, I found it the perfect bridge from Crafted Armor to the dropped and quested gear I'm pursuing now. I and my friends also find that LDoN plate (Gothic and Sand Blasted) is PERFECT for twinking alt characters. For the price, there's not much out there that you can acquire so easily and so cheaply.

As a producer of LDoN chain and plate, I find that the only types of armor that moves off the trader with any rapidity is the Gothic and Sand Blasted. The other three types gather dust until I price them below cost.

        That's my experience, anyway.

          My suggestion:

Don't sell this stuff in the bazaar. Take orders, make it, and deliver. Holding enough variety for everyone is just too much of a pain. I charge 3850pp for a full suit of gothic plate, and the only ingredients I hold onto are my smithy hammer and the tempers.

I also make this stuff by the truckload for the younglings in my guild. The whole guild helps me out by providing me with temper ingredients. It's a great relationship.
