  • joy and misery (another RNG thread!)

I have my STR buffs up.

I have 20 LDoN tempers, plus all other stuff required for 20 combines.

I click the forge. I am one with the forge now!

Bang! 5 skillups, 205 to 210 in under 20 combines.

I am at the top of the world! yay! all praise the RNG!

    ------

    (an hour later)

I have 20 ethereal bricks and tempers, plus enough small velium pieces, CVT and EV scrolls for 26 additional combines (thats 46 combines total)

I burn it all at the forge, zero skillups.

    Payback, I guess.

    /cry

PS: I had understood that going 210-212 via ethereal rings was nearly free, but bricks cost 86pp in a merchant, adding the temper that's like 100pp per combine with nearly no sellback. 2000 pp per stack (down the toilet, in my sad case). Am I doing anything wrong?

First step never buy the bricks off Merchants. Always head to the Bazaar. I have gotten stacks before as cheap as 5pp a brick. High side sometimes 30pp.

5 skillups in 20 combines is phenomenal. You could go the next 100 combines without a single gain and still come out better than most people.

And yeah, like others said, never buy bricks from vendors. You can always find some cheaper in the bazaar.

Thanks for the tip on buying bricks from bazaar, I bet I will get my 2 easy points after all. Seeing the brick on every merchant I even open had somehow "narrowed my mind" and I didn't even considered the idea of doing a bazaar search
