    Velium Piece/temper reciepe nerf soon?

    In every thread about the Small Velium Pieces + Coldain Velium Temper smithing skill up recepie people mention that this reciepe should/is going to be nurfed soon.

    The reciepe does seem too good to be true in regards to easy skill ups, but is there any truth to it being nurfed soon?

    only idle speculation and rumors. no official word anywhere that it will be changed but soe normally doesn't annouce nerfs in advance.

      I have my doubts that this recipe will be nerfed. It is a huge platinum sink. Average CVT price in the bazaar is 20-25plat plus the 11 plat per spell scroll. I've seen post of people starting this as a skill up path at 188. Thats a TON of money from 188 to 222. Especially when you hit those BIATCH skill up points that take 200+ attempts to get through. I know I did over 1200 combines from 190 to 200. 1200 X 31 (assuming you farm your own velium) = 37, 201 plat to get from 190 to 200. And that is if you buy ALL of your CVT at 20 plat per.
      But who knows, you could have the blessing of the RNG god and only need 40 or 50 tempers and spells. It could happen. LOL

      I'll be surprised if this is nerfed.

        I took advantage of the free velium tempers and decided to try to skill up using this method. It's trivial at 181 as of today, 11/18/03.

          you sure you added the scroll? if so then they completely ganked the difficulty required for the smithing part of their uber tradeskill quest. ganked is being used because what i really feel would get me banned and i love this site.

            I just need to add that I did 30 of these combines today in California (11/18) and got 2 skill ups, from 197->199.

            This was on E`ci at approximately 2:30pm PST.
            Andyhre playing Guiscard, 78th-level Ranger, E`ci (Tunare)
            Master Artisan (2100 Club), Wielder of the Fully Functional Artisan's Charm, Proud carrier of the 8th shawl


            with occasion to call upon Gnomedeguerre, 16th-level Wizard, Master Tinker, E`ci (Tunare)


            and in shouting range of Vassl Ofguiscard, 73rd-level Enchanter, GM Jewelcrafter, E`ci (Tunare)

              10 bucks says you forgot the scroll and made Velium Bits instead of Enchanted Velium Bits.

                That's very possible; It was in the wee hours of the morning and I was tired. I'll try it again and see what happens.
