  • Elemental success rates?

I was interested in buying up some components to have some Farwater chain gear made for me, and was wondering what the approximate sucess rates are.

Specifically, i was interested in legs, sleeves, coif and boots. Or any information weather these pieces seem to have differing rates, and if the different elemental armors all seem to have the same overall sucess rates.

    Your comments are appreciated...

I am getting ready to do some combines of the livestone plate, i'll report back with my success.

currently, i am at a smithing skill of 232 + 15% mod from the ironfost hammer off XTC.

          And i'm nervous.

Are we, 100%, sure that the "max modified skill" is STILL 252? I mean, we all agree that it was that, one time, many moons ago.

But since there there has been what 4 expansions? (LDoN, LoY, PoP and Luclin).

And in PoP enchanters were given AA's that help improve thier chance of created jewlcrafted items above and beyond there JC skill.

I'm seriously considering trying toget my skill as close to 250 before trying these combines...

From a success stand point, most of the new smithing combines are not harder than some of the older ones that do not trivial, based on that it would seem that they hover around the same mystical "trivial point" beyond 250... wouldn't really be a reason to up the modified cap of tradeskills at this point...

At 250, I am as follows on elemental:

              0/1 farwater plate bracer
              1/1 farwater plate arms
              1/1 farwater plate boots
              1/2 farwater plate legs
              0/1 farwater chain legs
              2/2 livestone chain tunics
              2/2 livestone plate BPs
              1/1 windessence plate BP
              1/1 windessence plate bracer
              1/1 windessence plate gloves
              1/1 windessence plate boots
              0/2 windessence chain legs
              0/1 windessence chain BP

While I have been cursing my "bad luck", when I do the math I am at 65%. I've been kinda lucky.

Edit: Updated % based on add'l attampts. It went from 77% to 65%. I suck.

                Small sample, but figured I'd throw it in: I'm 1/3 at 229 + 5% (240) (was dumb, I know, but I wanted that upgrade ) and 1/1 at 237 + 5% (248). All Farwater chain combines.

i have smiths in guild with 5% to 15% mods and 250 skill, they all have the same long term success rates of 50% as well. (so yes, i would say 252 is still the cap)

                    Lling, I envy you.

On overall smithing and tailoring Elemental combines, I seem to be at about 40%. Only about 50 to 60 attempts though.

Currently am running 75% on those elemental combines.

Guess rng loves me for now.

                      Using 250 skill and trophy.
