  • Wood Elf smithing & Sheets of Mithril

I am Extremely confused ... Looking at the Fier'dal Smithing as a way to increase my smithing skill it says that to make Fier'Dal Weapons I need Sheets of mithril .. "ok how do I make them?" I think to myself .. so I click on the link in the listed recipe and see what I need, but LO and Behold the data here says that this recipe needs be combined in a Koada'Dal Forge.

"WHAT?" Can this be right? In order for me to do my own Cultural Smithing I need someone ELSE to do theirs, and give or sell me the results? *blink*

Can somone tell me if this is erroneous or incomplete info?
Can I do this in a normal forge or in the Fier'Dal forge?

    Hmmmm...

    That indeed looks very odd...

You are properly interpreting what the database shows. What might be is there MIGHT be a recipe to make the sheet of mithril in the fier'dal forge (in Kelethin), by a wood elf, rather than in the koada'dal forge in North Felwithe by a High Elf.

    Since I don't have a Wood Elf I can't really test this.

But I can test out whether the Fier'dal Forge is useable by a High Elf (my first character who is still around is a high elf).

Well, the reason why they're Koada`Dal combine only...is because you don't really need to make them.

The vendor that sells Mithril also sells Sheets of Mithril.

Pretty sure that the wood elves can make sheets of mithril in the wood elf forge, with the same recipe that high elves would use the high elf forge. Not sure that I'd want to use up the morning dew that way though.

Some recipes are shared between the two races/forges. Going from small brick to large brick, for example, or making a folded sheet.

DOH!!!!! I should have known this as many times as I have gone to the Mithril vendor to make arrows and what not ... haven't been there for a while though so I chalk this oversight up to forgetfulness.

I'm pretty sure you can make sheets of mithril in the woodie forge as I seem to remember having made one by mistake once...but since it's cheaper to buy them from the merch, what's the point of making them?

I wish they had a few more woodie smithing recipes...but I guess as a woodie, I can't complain since we have nice tailoring and fletching...
