How do you farm Essence of Sunlight?

According to the main site here and a search of these forums, the most common ways to farm essence of sunlight are to hit Skyfire Mountains and chase down Chromadracs, or (in my case, at least) hit South Ro and Oasis and pray that some Sand Giants spawn.

My question is, what is your method for farming EoS? Do you go solo or grouped? What classes do you find most effective for this? If you hunt Chromadracs, how do you handle the dispell? For casting classes, how do you deal with the lack of mana regen buffs?

Any advice or interesting tales of your farming experiences would be appreciated.

By helping a cleric hunt for pearlensent(sp) shards for their epic piece in Skyfire. You just naturally gather the essence looking for the other. Sal

I make everything in South Ro's desert go "splat". It's a decent steady source of coin...then I head back once I'm loaded up on coin, drop off essences, and repeat the process.

If I wasn't on Firiona Vie,I'd have made a killing off Rings of the Ancient by now too. :P

They also drop off Fairy Dragons in Wakening lands. There is a fixed camp of 3 just inside the North entrance of cave that leads to geonids. You can usually also find a few just to the East of the entrance to Skyshrine.

Chroma's in SkyFire for me... Good Exp for the 50's and get shards for the Clerics...

Chromodracs is the best source. Solo if you're high enough, but a small group will be quicker.
Dispell is a pain. Be sure to have several junk buffs up before you get KEI or virtue or any other useful buff. And keep rebuffing the junk buffs.

I get mine (when I bother to get it) in Skyfire.

I solo, using a Dire Charmed pet. And since I am an enchanter, getting KEI again is usually not an issue.

chromadracs here, and fearkite is the key. if solo, i go through hammerpets quickly when fear breaks, but at least i can snare, thank innoruuk
usually i drag a handful of people over, including bards wanting their whoever the old. given up on claiming it was for pearls since enough people know i already have all four waiting in the bank for when i finally get the overking di'zok

A bard can swarm kite chromas fairly easily. Just keep the annul magic song up for the dots as well a heal song. Run 3 is nice too as Selos will get dispelled fairly often.

The main problem is finding enough of them. The drop rate on sunlight is probably around one in four or five as far as I can tell, so you end up running all over Skyfire trying to find the pesky little critters.

I have personally given up on the Heraldic myself, the prices have dropped too low to make it worth the bother.

Chromadracs here, too. As a Beastlord, I just buff my pet and tank the chromas myself with no buffs. Pet stays buffed, and I don't waste a ton of mana. (Eventually you run out of chromadracs, then it's time to buff up again and clear all the other stuff that's spawned.)
