Just curious about what their usage would be for?

They are used to make arrowheads for fletching

they are usefull in smithing arrow heads up to a smithing skill of 116, the recipe is Chunk of Condensed __________, flask of water, and a file, combined in a forge. The chunks can be bought off of player traders in the bazaar, pricing ranges from 3-10 pp each (not stack).

A successfull combine creates 2 arrowheads. These arrow heads when combined with the fletching skill is trivial at 250+.

so, for a measly 4-11 plat, you can get a chance to skill up your smithing and 2 tries at fletching.

or you can sell the arrow heads for some decent plat in the bazaar. after all, an easily purchable chance at that grandmaster title in fletching would probably sell real quick.
