I skilled up a wood elf bot on my tradeskill account to 42 smithing. The goal here was to make Mithril Arrowheads and Mithril Bundle Arrow Shafts without having to bring my toon to Kelethin. Both are trivial at 42.
I was working under the assumption that there was only a 5% chance of failure once you reach the trivial on an item. This is an acceptable loss for me. In reality, I have seen closer to a 30-40% failure rate on Mithril Aarrowheads. I am setting up 1000 combines so this was getting costly (6.7pp per brick) but still doable. I started on Mithril Bundle Arrow Shafts and failed about 50% of the time on 40 combines. At 20pp per brick this is getting scary.
Are these failure rates expected? Or is this a bug?
If the failure rate on trivial items was raised then I may have to bring my main to finish up since he has a considerably higher smithing skill.
Thanks.
