Tae Ew Plate Armor

Has any Plate armor been made on any server? Does anyone know if the Pristine Tae Ew scales are ultra rare? Any clues about where the best place would be to camp these?

After spending numerous hours in CT on several occasions, I saw every kind of scale drop minus the Pristine Tae Ew scales.

Has the recipie been changed?

The scales are extremely stupidly rare. In all my various times hunting in CT, I have seen exactly one of them drop.

They do indeed still drop. Yes, they are rare. Took a group to CT a few weeks ago after it was included in the list of 'updated' zones to check it out. Started from the entrance of 4c. Hit all 4 lower corners, cleared all the way to the top of the temple to whack the amy's up top, then cleared all the way back down to where we started. I think that yielded 3 pristine scales for us, which was probably pretty lucky from what I've seen of them . Wasn't looter at the time and was not paying attention so I couldn't tell you what type of lizards they dropped off of; would imagine it was the brown ones, though.

made plate greaves before, got trivial msg at 247. Apparantly they are well aware the scales are super rare and just made the trivial lower to compensate. They aren't even that good. Honestly if I was a plate class I'd just get ornate greaves. The only good thing about these greaves are that they are the 2nd highest tradeable hp plate legs in the game. The rest of the stats on them kinda suck.

Not everyone has the money for Ornate molds, especially the higher priced ones.

Further, last night when I checked the Bazaar on a whim, there wasn't a single ornate plate mold for sale. While I haven't checked in a while, given what I've seen in the past (primarily 1 or 2 helms and a couple of bracers at any given time), this wasn't particularly surprising.

I'm sure bot minis, solro yard trash can drop these. I've had friends that have gotten both. If you think ornate plate greaves are rare, you will never get the stuff to make tae ew plate greaves. Takes me an average of 50 hours worth of killing to get 6 pristine scales. And thats just when I 2box cuz no group. Talk about not worth it.

Before you start yapping, keep something in mind.

I'm level 60.

CT may be rare, but its a lot more accessible than Ornate is BECAUSE I CAN'T GO WHERE THE ORNATE DROPS!!!!

End of story.


Nor, with my current gear, would I want to try tanking where the ornate drops, even if I were of a high enough level.


And the only time I've seen CT for sale, it was priced for less than Ornate is likely to be priced.

Not everyone can get ornate for one reason or another. CT may not be quite as good, and it may be stupidly rare, but for some of us that's still a lot more realistic than ornate.
