  • Akheva Blood

I am looking for ways to get my smithing past 200. From looking at everything involved, I thought the easiest would be Black Acrylia Weapons. YEAH RIGHT

I killed Cin Thall Centiens in ME for 4 hours and got 3 blood drops. Before that, I was in Akheva Ruins and didn't see ANYTHING. Can someone help me out here, what am I doing wrong?

Don't get me wrong, I have all tradeskills but smithing and tailoring, at or above 220. I have 4 trophies. I don't mind something that is going to take some work, BUT I would like it to be consistant.

Any help would be appreciated. If by chance you are on Prexus and have some blood you don't need, send me a tell and we can work out a deal.

There is a reason Black Acrylia weapons are never mentioned as a skill up path. The blood is very rare and drops only off high 50's monsters. Your drop rate seems about right to me.

Well then, having 193 in smithing, what would you recommend?

I would most heartily recommend the LDoN armors until 212. Some of them sell quite well, recovering your costs for the skilling up and maybe even making a profit.

It seemed to me that I got more skillups per combine on the LDoN armors than anything else I've tried since Ornate Chain armors. I've done maybe 100-120 LDoN combines, and they were responsible for 9 of my last 11 skillups. Contrast that to over 120 Human cultural Field Plate combines with a whopping two skillups. Granted, my long-term average has been 1 skillup per 20-30 Field Plate combines, but that's still double the number of combines per skillup compared to LDoN items. Too bad I passed 212 already.

If it wasn't just the RNG smiling on me (which it very well could be), it would appear that LDoN armors have a very fast skillup rate.

I got 11 skillups in 50-60 (two full stacks and a few partial stacks of temper) combines on the new recipes. Went from 169 to 180 and had a decent sucess rate as well.

It did seem to be better for skillups but... I really didn't think that was anything but myth and it was all luck. Is there really anything anywhere besides a few lucky streaks that lead people here to believe there really are different skill rates built into recipes?

            Black Acrylia

I am assuming money is not a great deal here (after all to make Black Acrylia you need 2 sapphires as part of the process for the temper).

You should buy Windstones, blocks of Acrylia etc in the Bazaar and farm the essence of wind in T.S.

Over the last month and a bit I have picked up 200 windstones, at average price of 90ish pp and about 100 Blocks of acrylia for around 60pp.

You can use that to supplement the Ldon combines ...

ACTUALLY that is something I have been meaning to post about, my smithing being at 193, the Combined Acrylia weapons are all TRIVIAL, despite what is posted I was TOTALLY shocked when I hit 191 on one of them it said I could no longer advance my skill Oh well, such is life.

I will have to try the LDoN recipes and see what is what, for the moment I switched back to Tailoring and Solstice Robes I did 93 combines earlier and got 2 skillups and 3 robes. *sigh* I guess I am just at that point in tradeskills where I have to put my shoulder to the wheel.

              Thanks for the info

As heinous as it is, post 212(or whatever LDON tops out at) shadowscream really is the only alternative unless you're stupidly rich and the windstones are abundant in the bazaar.

You are a druid - so you should be able to just forage temper components in LDoN.

You should also be able to farm wolves/bears in Hollowshade and either shadows in TS or Xi in ME.
