Racial Smithing

I've searched the forum for what race would make the best smith? I know its probably all about our opinions, but I currently have a half elf Paladin and the reason i'm looking into smithing is to make armor for myself and others... so, in your opinions, you who have more knowledge and experience than I... what would be the best race to create to smith? (making a new pally is an option, not the best, but feasable)

I imagine you'd want to be able to eventually make yourself some cultural armor. If this is the case, the race would depend on your diety. If you are Mith Marr, Erolisi Marr, Karana, or Rodcet Nife (I think that's all) then you'll want to make a human. If you are Tunare, then it's High Elf for you.

Pick a class that will get your INT, WIS, or STR (it doesn't matter which) as high as possible. I'm guessing either a High Elf Cleric for WIS or a Human Warrior for STR.

Thanks Heap, I made a Rodchet Nife Paladin from qeynos, already have a 120 smithing... its getting expensive, but I think the payoffs in the end will be worth it.. once i'm done with smithing, i'm going to work on brewing. I have friends who can enchant so, unless there are any other tradeskills I need, I think I'll be pretty set.. Thanks for the reply though, i just wish my half elf pally had cultural.
