Guessing the LDoN smithing trivials for the PLATE armor

He *started* at 207 and they were trivial. We're still missing Gloves and the Cloak.

Doing some skill up attempts at my current 200 skill, I got a trivial message on large calicified shoulders (edit: not arms, sigh). The other 2 sheet items I've tried are not trivial.

Summary:

Large Calicified Steel Pauldrons <=200
Large Deep Cavern Steel Helm >200
Large Calcified Steel Helm >200
Large Calcified Steel Gauntlets >200

All 3 sheet items I've tried (lots of legs and bps) are >200. Still have a bunch to do tonight. Will edit this if I discover more.

Hardly. I said SMALL CALCIFIED STEEL BREASTPLATE, not just CALCIFIED STEEL BREASTPLATE.

When I made a SMALL breastplate, I got the message that I could no longer gain skill from making this item. And it was at 199 skill.

I then proceeded to make a REGULAR CALCIFIED STEEL BREASTPLATE, and I did not get the message saying it was trivial.

If you read the recpies, you'll notice TWO CALCIFIED STEEL BREASTPLATES recpies. One for SMALL and one for just a breastplate.

I posted my trivial for SMALL, not the other one.

Just because this is my first post here, doesn't mean I'm new to tradeskills or don't understand things. No need to be rude.

Can you please confirm that you made a STEEL breastplate, not a RINGMAIL breastplate? I myself made the small steel breastplates at various skill points between 202 and 207, and it was never trivial. In fact, it's my main LDoN skillup item right now -- small molds are a lot more convenient in PoK than medium or large, and goblin bones are far more common than all the other temper items combined.

Based on my own experiences, Small Calcified Steel Breastplates cannot be trivial at 199.

I have nopt heard from anyone else that the size of the armor makes any difference to the trivial.

And as for the gloves and cloak... I will update that we havent got those yet.

From my earlier posts in both threads, both the cloak and the gloves are either 203 or 204. I'm not sure where 206-207 came from. I personally did both combines at 202, did not get trivial message, and at 204, when I got the trivial message. Unfortunately, I didn't try them at 203

It was a small steel. Not ringmail, not medium bp, not large bp. All I can tell you is, when I made one, I got the message stating I could no longer gain skill from making this item. And that was at 199.

Now when I moved on to a medium calcified steel bp, I DID NOT get the "you can no longer gain skill from making this item"

Very strange ... I've gathered enough temper components for a few more combines. I'll try some more small calcified BP's and see what I get.

Just out of curiosity, what server do you play on? There may be some weird bug that only affects one server; maybe someone else on the same server could check that.

I just did a skillup run of Small Calcified Steel Breastplates in PoK. They were definitely not trivial at 207; in fact, I just got two skillups in a row to 209.

Did you perform the combines in PoK or elsewhere? Maybe the recipe is bugged if you use an old-world forge?

Also, what was the exact recipe you used? Here's what I used:

1 x Bone Temper (made with Goblin Bones)
1 x Water Flask
1 x Small Breastplate Mold
1 x Smithy Hammer
3 x Medium Quality Folded Sheet Metal (unstacked)
1 x Superb Leather Padding

Let us know.

I think the guessing's been narrowed down pretty darn well. I think it should be very easy at this point for people to confirm trivials for each set of armor--which was the *whole* point of the guessing.

To refresh, this is what it has been narrowed down to, from the first post:

Bracers: 190
Visor: 191
Neck: 192
Boots: 196
Girdle: 196
Pauldrons: 196
Vambraces: 204
Helm: 204
Cloak: 204
Gauntlets: 204
Greaves: 210
Breastplate: 212

The only only only *if* I have is the Visor. I have a feeling it is 192. 190, 191, and then 192 doesn't feel right, even though someone skilled up to 191 on them.

Enatha, can you try another combine of the Small Calcified Steel Breastplate again? I've run into a problem once where something that was NOT trivial came up with a trivial message once. It's rare, but it has happened to me before, so I know it happens.

Well, since nobody else seemed to be coming up with the same trivial, I did try another Small Calcified Steel Breastplate. To my amazement, I did NOT get the trivial message with 199 skill.

So I guess I got that "rare" message that you just mentioned, Kronepsis.

I am positive that all the one-sheets (bracer, visor, neck) are trivial by 191.

I am pretty sure they were all trivial at 190.

I was at 190 when LDON came out, and I tried to skill up on the one-sheets and was unable to. I moved on to the 2-sheets to skill up. I didn't write down what I tried at the time, but I am 90% that all three one-sheet combines were trivial at 190.

That would make sense with the patterns i'm seeing anyway. It looks like they are split into groups of trivials.

I can confirm that while in my stupor Smithing mode last night, trying to skill up on Small Calcified Steel Visor(s) I was indeed getting Trivial message at my current skill of 191. Glad I realized it early on, or I'd have gone to my nearest Necro guildie for a Sacrafice!!

I acquired 13 goblin bones and 3 gargoyle granite over the past two days. My skill is currently 192. Before I do any combines are there any particular combines that you want tested?
