BD Cultural Question

Greetings friends.

Well since the last post I made, I have crawled my way up to 217 (huff huff weeze)

Kudos to you guys for doing this... I can't imagine doing all this again for say tailoring or something. The farming is down right ungodly.

Anyways, I have now hit 217 and have a gearlock.

As many of you folks rogressed through did you try the BD cultural, and would you mind sharing your success rate? I could really use the armor upgrades since I am not in a large guild and can't get say Kael or SS armor's. Sadly, I am being turned down by groups asI have hit 59 and have poor armor for tanking.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

1 in 5 i would pee my pants while running to the forge, 10+ I might as well keep killing the cyclopses ).

Human Cultural is what I would be looking at, also, would I need to get a strength buff? Will that help for successes? I have read conflicting reports on other sites.

Success is based only on your skill level, nothing else.

STR is an alternate stat for smithing for skill ups. Instead of having high INT or high WIS, you can do high STR and it does the skill checks using the highest number of the 3.

Even at max skill, cultural is about 40% success rate. So with your skill, you might be looking at 20% success rate. But there is a formula floating around here on a sticky note, you can plug in numbers to see what it says.

So, let's see. Guesstimate success for max skill at 41%.

Percentage = (skill - (trivial*.75)) + 51.5

41% = (252 - (trivial*.75) +51.5

You come up with trivial of 350

Put your skill (217+5%) into formula = 16.85% chance of success.

So I'd say a good chance of 1 in 6 combines as a success rate. Of course that's all based on the "guesstimate" figure, which could vary a bit.

At my current skill of 221 I attemped 4 sets of BD greaves, one Breastplate and 2 bracers. All of this with a Str of 255. Out of these 7 items I only made the BP. I have however had better luck in the past on BD and I have had worse luck.

I would say you may get like 1 in 15 to 20 attempts on average but remember you are dealing with a RNG that hates people.
