Any word on a Research Torphy?

Anyone hail an NPC and get any info on a research trophy. Afterall, all the rest of the tradeskills has one and I consider Research as a viable tradeskill. If not, I'll bring it up at the FF in LV next week. Maybe it's something as easy as seal+parchment+quill.

That makes sense, I mean there is alchemy and poison trophies.... if my alt had a skill high enough I would try it

Though failing and losing the seal would be a rough way to discover that there was a trophy :shock:

There may not be one (yet.) After all, Fishing doesn't have a trophy (fishing companion is nice, but not a trophy.) So go ahead and ask at the Fan Faire.

However, that said...IF it was already put in the game, you could try hailing any and all NPCs that sell lexicons or quills/parchments, and also the Researcher and Assistant in Gunthak, and possibly the old-world NPCs that handed out the Concordance of Research quests (For good alignment the quest-giver is a gypsy named Mrysila, she is in North Karana at the gypsy camp located at -672, -162. For evil alignment the quest giver is Smith Tv'ysa, she is a Dark Elf in the Southern Desert of Ro, at the merchant camp located at +100, +500.)

I HIGHLY doubt there will ever be a trophy associated with fishing and research since both of these skills can be purchased at any trainer.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but cant practices beyond 20 be bought at the trainer for poison making and tinkering? and they both have trophies..

You can definitely buy up poison making, but by my understanding, there's an enormous questy-thing involved before you can make the trophy. Of course, I could be wrong. It's been ages since I played my rogue. =(

Edit: Did some research. We're both right. There's a Grandmaster Assassin's Vial, which is a standard tradeskill trophy, and there's the Grandmaster Assassin's Seal, which has a different effect and a keen particle effect, and is a monster of a quest.

Hey I am all for the fishing folks to get a trophy if they want to give us researchers one too.

While fishing and research can be purchased, tinkering cannot. I spent a little over a year earning 250 the hard way.

As for skills that can be purchased beyond 20 points, I believe all the skills and laungages can be, minus the 7 core tradeskills, tinkering, and maybe alchemy ... I've never played a shaman.

Fishing

I thought that fishing was capped at 200, so is there any TRUE Grandmasters out there for this wonderful sport?

Yes, fishing is capped at 200 and alchemy is now capped at 205 (.. (lvl-24)*5 ..) unless you don't have PoP, then it's 180. And to make matters worse, poison has 2 trophies and the seal summons coffin bottles and not a no rent bag. So, I'm left to ask, is there any chance that we are going to get a trophy? The only way I see it happening is that fishing gets one as well.

Actually, just for the sake of accuracy, alchemy caps at 200. Getting level 65 will not let you go over 200.
