50-60 Spell Research Drop List by Zone

This is not a complete list of every zone where a research component drops. Epic fights and quest events are not be included. 50-60 Research Items only please. If not sure check here. Posts will be deleted when the info is added to the list.

Any creature in the zone can drop the components listed. A particular component drops off creatures the same level or up to five levels higher than the spell that component makes. Where a component can make spells of different levels, the lowest level spell determines the drops. If you're not sure, do a search the site for the item and then click on "Find recipes that use this item" and look for the lowest level spell. If you still have trouble finding a drop in a given zone, try a search of the boards. Some of the most popular components have been thoroughly discussed.

When a page has a left and a right side, you must look at the icon to see which it is.

LDoN Research Drops

LDoN dungeon drops are the same across all themes, so they are all grouped together here. However, the level of the components that drop will vary as the level of your group (and hence, the level of the mobs) varies. We track them here just to determine which are dropping in LDoN at all. Just remember that in LDoN the components will only drop if your group is the right level.

I have compiled a basic spredsheet from my own experience and this board that lists every research component, confirmed drop zones, and confirmed mobs that drop it. If there is a way to add it to the board, please let me know and I would be glad to share it. Also, I noticed the posts have been deleted again and am more than willing to continue to update my work if people want to PM me with their info since the posts keep being deleted =(

PoM has been back to 2.0 version since last server reset on Bristlebane (instead of the 1 week long 3.0 revamp).

Both before it changed to 3.0 and after it's been back to 2.0 we have gotten Yaeth's 73 rt (RGC component) from the Dastardly Rascals (think that's the name...the hamburglers outside the castle on the "ramparts") . We've cleared them one time each visit and had about 7 or so visits and had that page drop 3 times (2 on one clearing and 1 on another). 3 wis casters in our guild are now very very happy :-)

We also saw quite a few level 55+ necro and wizard components and a few cleric components (include the rare drop for Hammer of Souls - forget the name of it though - my memory sucks!).

OK based on leads here on the eqtraders.com boards, we spent several hours this weekend farming POM (dastardly rascals on the ramparts) and Dulak's Harbor (both the caves and the ships), which have been reported as sources for Yaeth's 73 Right. Well, we got a few of 73 LEFT from Mischief, and no luck at all in Dulak's. (On the bright side, we got some rare research components to make a few priest spells and a shard to make Everlasting Breath).

On a side note, I am on the Stormhammer server, and I am not aware that our POM has reverted back to the "old" POM; so I don't know if the drops are different for the "older" vs "newer" version of POM.

So although we were trying to avoid it, looks like we're going to Cazic-Thule and try there. Can somebody who has confirmed Y73R dropping in C-T please post whereabouts in the zone you got the pages, or if you know specifically which mobs? I've got at least 9 of the other half of this spell research (RGC) in the bank and some guildmates eager for this spell. Thanks.

We were camping the elusive FT3 boots in the sewers on Sunday night (12/14/03) and Y73R dropped off a random Ooze. I'd say about one in 5-10 drops some research component or other.

GL with the camp, it may take a while to get the boots, the earring or Y73R to drop, but hopefully you will get something else in the process

Update for Y118R:

Killed Radir in UP last Saturday (12/13/03) night. He (not the Ghost, Radir himself) dropped Y118R, the rare one. First time he dropped it, so it's presumably uncommon.

Got a Yaeth's 73 right in The Hole last night, from a mob in the undead tower. I don't remember the mob's name, but it was a female Erudite ghost model and wasn't a "named" mob, there were scads of them there. Only one dropped it, of course.

Can anyone confirm a *recent* drop of pg 73 right of the PoM rascals?

I was getting a drop once every four hours but after a recent patch (Early Dec, 2003) I havnt had one in about 16 hours there

I get the distinct feeling that the spot has been nerfed since what I DID get was about twice as many pg. 78 right drops, compared to when pg. 73 was dropping.
