While the "Words" in question might be "for" mage, or necro, or whatever spells, and the "page" in question is "for" an enchanter spell, that doesn't really mean anything. You just gather all the stuff, give it to an int caster with the advanced book, add quill and paper, stir, press combine and hopefully a spell comes out. Saying that pages are "for" enchanter spells is like saying Metallic Liquid is "for" the the Valorium Ring of Gallantry. Yes, it is. It might even be the primary thing it's used for, but it's not the ONLY thing.

These pages aren't class restricted in any way. People just call them "enchanter pages" or "mage words" or whatever, because those are the spells you used to be able to make with them. It gets a lot messier in terms of terminology now that priest classes are in the mix using them all, but hey...

Confirm success on research combine of druid spell

I'm so excited right now! I went to the really great website that was linked earlier in this post: http://www.phantomraiders.com/members/research/index.htm#all

and looked up info on the druid level 55 pet spell, nature walker's behest. I guess I really lucked out but the components were for sale in bazaar today so I got them and asked a high level enchanter friend to combine and voila!! I got my spell! Just saved myself about 7k I figure since that's about how much it costs in bazaar.

You do need a parchment and quill, and they are sold in many cities and you can get a list of those from the LOY spell section in eqtraders. Any int class can combine them, but they do need a special book that is given out in Gulf of Gunthak. It's a different book for each class, and the instructions for getting them are once again clearly written up in the LOY research page on eqtraders.

This is very exciting for me, since many of the researchable spells are very hard to come by and very expensive, so I think in the next several months we'll start seeing spell prices dropping to affordable levels (crosses fingers).

Good luck on your spell combines everyone.

          *ponder*

          Now here's a nasty thought:

What if success rate is based on what class does it? Meaning, Enchanters do better with Shaman spells, and so on.

          .....

Personally I think they should've just kept the "this class only does that class", and the fourth int caster (Mages?) deal with hybrids, due to being so.. wide ranged..

While I'm very happy to see the possibility of finally getting some spells I've been missing forever, I think this is a stupid way of doing it. If Wis casters have spells that have to be researched, then let us Research.

Finding the bits and pieces for the spells I need will prolly be hard enough... then having to go to an INT caster to make my WIS caster spell... yeah, that makes sense (sigh)

So...maybe I'll be able to summon corpses with the next upgrade... or (gasp) solo effectively

Understand, I don't have hatred for any class in the game, and think that it's kind of stoopid to do so... but this is just moronic.

Qutie, trust me. You don't WANT research. It's an old, irritating skill that you really have no USE for. The only way you'd be able to raise it would be to either blow valuable 50+ spell components, or spend points at a trainer, because all pre 50 research combines are class restricted.

I know that you know -one- int caster in all your friends list, right?

Confirmed tonight that the Malo recipe is working. It was not trivial at 200+geerlok skill for a wizard guildmate, but did succeed. I am pretty ecstatic about it too, because the spell sells for 60-80k on this server and I got it for bazaar purchases totaling 350p plus one component given to me by a guildmate =)

reasearch for hybrid spells really isn't a big deal. Most of their 50-60 spells they can buy from vendors. for rangers, Call of Flame (old world quest spell, level 49), Call of Fire(PoG drop, easy to get, level 55), and Call of the Predator(level 60) would be the only research-worthy spells.
