Does this not seem arse-backward from a roleplaying perspective?

This would particularly suck for Tunare & Rodcet clerics on Sullon, but I'm sure my guildie's cleric of Rodcet is not the only cleric who goes out of her way to slaughter undead whenever she sees it.

indeed, cleric spells made in a necro research book is very counterintuitive and probably a very bad idea for various reasons. if anyone is listening, i suggest necros dont make wis caster spells after they go live. for one thing, necros are religion-dependant and therefore affiliation-dependant, similarly to wis casters but always evil (unlike wis casters). i'll bet wizards making druid spells will be a *real* big hit in the wizard community too...
well, i'm off to break the news to graffes *snicker*

But clerics going to Necros? Thats just plain wrong.

If they tweak this a little bit, It has good potential, though.

I really hope they allow mages to do shaman spells or someones spells. Hate always being left in the cold as an int caster.

What I find surprising is that Ethereal Remedy and Ethereal Light are researched as well. You can just buy those two spells in ShadowHaven at the Cleric/Palading guild ...

Yes, the wiz in my guild who has really high research absolutely detests druids so the likelihood of me getting my high level spells researched pretty much sips through straws. /sigh

Not really.

#1 Remeber, not all Clerics are "good" (think Dark Elf clerics, clerics of Bertox, etc...)

#2 Some mythos (not necessarily EQ) consider Necromancers their priest type...

So there is some precidence for it.

That is a diferent matter entirely, and needs some thought for those servers.

The holes on PvP server seem kind of Immense.

1) Race Teams - The elvish team has no necros, but more then one High Elf Priest.

2) Good Vs Evil: Any Good cleric has to go cross team, as does any neutral. :-)

3) (Not PvP, I know) Fironia Vie: How can the 50% (or more) of good clerics roleplay going to a Necromancer for their Holy Spells?

Like I said, researching High level Priest spells is a good idea.
Having INT casters do it..... well.... It could be worse.
The way they currently have it set up? (On test, mind you, not even live yet). Needs re-adjusting.

According to the books on Test, Wizards research Druid spells, Necromancers research Cleric spells and Enchanters research Shaman spells.

Not sure if this means Mages are left out all together or what, but there was no book for Magicians
