DNC - Charta Arcanum Solution recipes

Fine Charta Arcanum Solution =
Aqua Regia, Vial of Muriatic Acid, Vial of Pure Water, Rubies x 3, Fire Emerald, Topaz

Runic Charta Arcanum Solution =
Aqua Regia, Vial of Muriatic Acid, Vial of Pure Water, Rubies x 3, Sapphire, Peridot

Fine Runic Charta Arcanum Solution =
Aqua Regia, Vial of Muriatic Acid, Vial of Pure Water, Rubies x 4, Topaz

At the moment, these recipes are DNC in both a Spell Research Kit and a Tome Binding Kit.

Perhaps the recipes are not turned on yet?

I am seeing on Lucy that a relevant book is Systematic Research Addendum: Charta Arcanum. I cannot locate a source for this book.

Also, all high level cleaning fluid recipes have contained a platinum bar. I am observing no precious metal in these recipes. I tried the level 79 recipe as stated and adding a bar of platinum. Both are blocked.

The book can be found in the Ferrott2, on Rathen Darkforest near the Rathe Mtn zone.

The book doesn't scribe and none of the recipes list in it call for metal. The OP has what's listed in the book.

Here the contents of the book:

With the discovery of a new parchments has come the creation of a newer, better class of spells and tomes. These new parchments, "Charta Arcanum", have proven ideal for the creation of both arcane spells and martial tomes. As with the previous ranks of research these new parchments will need to be cleaned with a specific class of solution. As before you will need to find some parchments that have previously been used in some fashion, and then clean them in a celestial cleanser and a solution specific to each one.

These new soutions can be created as follows:

Rough Charta Arcanum Solution: Dissolve three rubies and a fire opal in a solution of aqua regia, muratic acid and pure water.
Charta Arcanum Solution: Dissolve three rubies, a star ruby and a topaz in a solution of aqua regia, muratic acid and pure water.
Fine Charta Arcanum Solution: Dissolve three rubies, a fire emerald, and a topaz in a solution of aqua regia, muratic acid and pure water.
Runic Charta Arcanum Solution: Dissolve three rubies, a sapphire and a peridot in a solution of aqua regia, muratic acid and pure water.
Fine Runic Charta Arcanum Solution: Disolve four rubies and a topaz in a solution of aqua regia, muratic acid and pure water.

The same solutions and uncleaned Charta Arcanum can be crafted into tomes with the use of tome cover supplies.

In addition to the use of new parchments a new ink additive has been developed. Cazic's Ink Additive is used in the creation of spells that are resisted via corruption.

Apart from these new developments, little has changed in the manner of research.

Trying to make Harrow Rk2 but can't even get the base parchment to combine.

EDIT: After a quick check on SOE forums, I found this post by Dev Dzarn today 11/17 (in response to some broken research recipes, including solutions/tomes):

Hey all, I checked my notes and noticed that I did indeed mess this one up.

The recipes were created but didn't get set to go live. I've gone ahead and activated them, so the solutions should be craftable after the next patch.

I successfully made a Fine Runic Charta Arcanum Solution two days ago - so I've added these recipes to the DB - but I only know the trivial for this one for sure, I suspect they're all 243? Also don't know quite what they return on success or failure. I'll try to test them after the holidays unless someone beats me to it (and posts the results so we can update the db )

Can anyone confirm yet if Tomes are working yet?

The melee chartas still DNC'd as of Wednesday Dec 15th (post hotpatch).

A dev replied to the thread on eqlive saying that he's aware of it (melee tomes), but that's what he said last time too...

I'm thinking January patch if lucky.

I just put this on the "whats new in HoT" thread, however it seems more appropriate here:


With the patch today, Melee Tomes that were supposed to be researchable with HoT are now available. I'm working to try and kick around some stuff and figure out some recipes, however I'm not having much luck.

The only one I've figured out so far today is Harrow Rk2 for Bsts.

It's the same recipe as Rake, only with the Fine Runic Primer in place of the manual.


3 Ink of Finesse, Striking Thickener, Ink Additive of the Nameless, Fine Runic Primer combined in a Tome Binding Kit = Tome of Harrow Rk. II

I've tried Heel of Kanji, Impenetrable, Scaledfist, Rapid Kick, Echo of Misdirection combo's with all primers in an attempt to find the recipe for Crystalpalm Rk2 (or any other monk recipe I might stumble upon) - no dice.
