I finally wanted to bring the last tradeskill on my bard up to 300, but after hitting 243 I am at a loss - what to research now?

I found EQTC to be a great resource for the recipes, HOWEVER, not all recipes were updated for hybrid research. That can be a GOOD thing, believe it or not!Originally posted by Wandervogel View PostI finally wanted to bring the last tradeskill on my bard up to 300, but after hitting 243 I am at a loss - what to research now?
First, know that all the recipes were updated for hybrids in-game. It's just the recipes on EQTC that haven't been (I know that's a work in progress, and it is getting updated). Knowing that, just know that hybrids can make all hybrid spells up to TSS. What I did was I disregarded the fact that many of the recipies did not show as hybrid-combinable (that is, still showed only nec/wiz/mag) and attempted the combines anyways. Most importantly, I would search the Bazaar for these words and buy them up. They sold for cheap because most players did not know what they could be used for. Most of the popular words/parchments etc., are all high priced because they are known to be used for research -- and as of late for hybrid research because the recipes show they can be used for hybrid research. However, there are tons of words/scolls/parchments out there that can be used for hybrid research that are not in the EQTC database as being useable for hybrid spells, so they often go for a few plat because no one is buying them, because no one knows what they are used for.
Buy those "less popular" parchments/words/scrolls up and do your combine runs. That's how I got to 300 as a hybrid. By far this was more difficult for me and expensive than the other tradeskills (I was master artisan before the new tradeskill system of ores/loams/silks/fluids), so it definitely took longer after drake wing webbings to get to 300, but it can be done with some homework on lesser-known recipes.[80 Bloodreaver] Master Artisan Klotar Steelheart of the Freeport Militia (Dark Elf)

You have plenty of choices, but if you want a couple for example, you can make Psalm of Veeshan to 292, then Dreams of Terris to 300. Neither are currently in the database as Bard makeable, but both are Bard songs, so will be combineable by a Bard in a Song Writing Kit (instead of the Spell Research Kit in the existing recipe).
Those are just two of the many choices you can use. Any level 63 song will take you to 292, and any level 64 plus song or tome will take you to 300. Once you pass 292, you can simply make songs based on what vellums or papers you happen to have available.
