To open up hybrid research paths some more, beyond what is already availiable.

For example, I find it strange that an SK can make Fickle Shadows (359 trivial) but not Touch of Volatis (262 trivial).

Seems it would make more sense for a hybrid to be able to make all their class specific spells instead of only the higher level ones, plus this would open up usage of different papers, parchments, etc beyond the less-than-handful we have availiable right now.

Did you test the recipe or are you looking at the database here? I know the database here lists it as INT casters only, but that is probably only because it has not been updated. (These things take time and volunteers.)

If you cannot make it (or anything else that shouldn't be restricted) in game use the /bug report and it will eventually get updated.

I'm looking at the database here as a guide and have not tested the combine.

You may be right and perhaps the list needs to be updated yet, but my main point is more options should be made availiabe for hybrids (and melees perhaps) then there currently is. The drop rate on those papers, parchments, etc for higher level combines is dismall. More options for non-pure casters should be opened up, its not like at this stage of the game it will be a game changer or game breaker.

Just to review and make sure you know, the parchments, vellums, papers etc... only drop from caster mobs. By casters, it means only INT caster (ENC, MAG, NEC and WIZ) mobs, vice hybrid and priest mobs. So your best bet is to farm areas with lots of casters, or ones (in the right level range) that you can kill quickly.

Many people like Sunderrock Springs and The Hive as places where there are plenty of casters.

Another suggestion might be to put up a buyer in the bazaar.


Personnaly, I would like to see binding powders (and energean combines) unlocked for all types of spell casters and melee or something added as an alternate/supportive route for all melee types. But, for now we can only use what we've got.

Well, on a good note I've discovered that hybrids can make their own paper using sooty paper, paper solution, and the cleanser in a hyrid research kit! Haven't tested others but it's likely a safe bet hybrids can do all the solution combines.

This creates a new path so I can take making Blood of the Blacktalon Rk. II.

Expensive but now at least more options are there to go 300+ with.
