  • Spell: Blood of the Marty Rk. II -- broken?

I started with the recipe for Spell: Mark of the Blameless

    Quill of the Archon
    Debilitating Thickener
    Luclin's Ink Additive
    Ink of Pain
    Ink of Tunare
    Runic Vellum

and replaced the Runic Vellum with Fine Runic Paper to account for spell level.

When that didn't work, I replaced the Ink of Tunare with a 2nd Ink of Pain.

I also confirmed that the Shaman spell: Hungry Plague which also has the ability to spread to nearby mobs still uses Debilitating Thickener and is otherwise matches the expectations for similar single-target spells. But just in case, I tried both of the above ink combinations with every thickener. Then I went back to Debilitating Thickener and tried every ink additive.

Finally, I tried adding Chronal Resonance Dust even though there is no other spell with similar effects at level 75.

At this point, this spell recipe is either broken or uses some very non-intuitive ingredients.

UPDATE: Thanks to the suggestions of everyone in the responses below, I found the recipe for this spell. Changed title to reflect this and will be posting recipe in the UF Data forum.

Try a second or a third Ink of Pain perhaps.

A number of the spells that were unknown for lengthy periods of time turned out to need multiples of one or more of the Inks, and as no spell had needed more than two of any single Ink before, the discovery that some spells took three opened up a number of recipes that were frustrating the Researchers for months.

That is a good idea, but in looking at older recipes both the enchanter viral mez and the shaman viral slow use the same components as a single target spell would (i.e. Debilitating Thickener and no duplicate inks).

      Nevertheless, things change.

So starting with Quill of the Archon + Debilitating Thickener + Luclin's Ink Additive + Fine Runic Paper:

I tried 2 each and 3 each of Ink of Pain/Ink of Tunare.
Then I tried all combinations of 1 or 2 from Ink of Zek/Ink of Rainbows/Ink of the Nameless + 1 each or 2 each of Ink of Pain/Ink of Tunare.

Tried all of the Ink Combinations described in my previous posts using Debilitating Thickener + Veeshan's Ink Additive, Enervating Thickener + Luclin's Ink Additive, Enervating Thickener + Veeshan's Ink Additive.

        Still DNC on all.

I just thought of something creative. Try Invigorating Thickener. It can be viewed as a buff.

Merlaina suggested Consuming Thickener in your other thread.

There isn't a whole lot of room to fiddle around with the Inks for this one. And the viral part has never made an impact on other spells.

The Magic resist part is set in stone.

So try locking everything down and concentrate on the Thickener.

Thank you Elfdruidess. You were right, it was Invigorating Thickener.

I still don't think it makes sense, but there you go. Also, since it didn't use Ink of Zek, multiple Inks of Pain amd Tunare, I thought I had tried it along with all the other thickeners per my note in the first post. Full recipe will be posted in a minute in submissions forum.
