  • Spell Research for Dummies

Is there an existing post anywhere that shows what I need to farm as a Non-Spell Researcher to pass on to those that can make spells for me?

Im particularly looking for bard songs levels 60-70 at the moment.

I just need to know what parchments (if it is parchments) i need to gather while im leveling.

    thanks

Here is a listing of the "papers" that are needed for each spell level. The paper is (almost*) the only piece that is farmed for spells.

    http://mboards.eqtraders.com/eq/showthread.php?t=31930

The other thing to do to find the components of a recipe for a song/spell is the look it up by name here on eqtraders or on Allakhazam.

    * A rare spell may use chronal resonance dust or sample of highland sludge (further refined).

If you are trying to find out what's needed to make the spells/songs/tomes that you are missing, there's an app for that.

Go to http://www.eq-manager.com/sample.htm and click the '1' in the upper right corner next to research to see a sample of what the page/list will look like. You can download the app from http://www.eq-manager.com/InventoryTool.Zip (or see my sig).

If you click on 'Pavoratti' in the middle section, the page it brings up shows a sample of the page that would include all the missing spells/songs/tomes that are missing, not just the ones that are researchable.

If you're wanting a list of items to collect for someone just so they can practice their skill, then that'd just be the various pages/papers/vellums/etc and binding powders if they're int casters.

          Mewkus,

Does that program need to be installed in the Everquest folder?

it doesn't have to be. the only thing is that eq defaults to putting the inventory and spellbook files there. you'll just need to be careful when you set up the directories.
