Are priests allowed to research?

I look up recipes for shaman spells in eqtraders and they all say they can only be made by INT casters. I thought priest research was supposed to be available a year ago?

So I thought I'd try one anyway, I tried to make Spell: Malicious Decay except I'm using my prayer writing kit instead of a Spell Research Kit but it says "You cannot combine these items in this container type!"

My skill is 250. So how do I make any spells?

Not sure since, you're saying your research skill is 250, since the most common reason for that message for non-int casters, is because they either haven't went to their class GM and trained in research, or are using the wrong container, which as you have stated have done both.

I am having same problem. I am a druid and my research skill is 190 abouts, I have gotten it that high by making parchments and solutions. But now that I actually tried to make a spell (shammy spell), I got the message "You cannot combine these items in this container type!"


Do I need some kind of flag or pre-quest to make the spell combines? I haven't found any information. I already have chanter with 300 research skill, so I should know most tricks for research skill ups...

Ok I found some posts from year ago, saying that most shammy spells seem to be bugged. So if you are a druid or cleric and try to make shammy spells using Prayer Writting Kit, you get error message.

After reading this I tried making a cleric spell and had no problems.
