Journeyman Researcher Trophy

Hello all! I recently returned to EQ and decided to get the research trophy on my chanter. Anyway, I've completed all the items for the quest, with the exception of the two Highland Sludge Drying Powders. According to what I can find, the initial component is drop only, and comes from high end zones n GoD, which are pretty much empty of players. Are they seriously expecting us to get two of these random drops for a lowly Journeyman test?

They appear in Bazaar, not often, and for prices you would likely not appreciate, but they do appear there.

The quests were designed at a time when the population was more spread out, so your best bet is to find a few friends and hunt the zones, hire a fellow player to get the drops for you, wait until they show up in the Bazaar, or level your Research until you reach the next category of trophy (unless that one uses Highland Sludge Drying Powder too; the Journeyman test I have jotted down does not, so the quest was likely changed to avoid the Ykesha swatches).

I was doing Pottery and didn't do my trophy, and put me on the Journeyman quest which required a drop from Gates of Discord.

I was kinda frustrated but then I saw the next one up "Expert" didn't require it. All the drops were easily obtained at lvl 60.

Maybe the Expert trophy for research is like that?

I did this a few weeks ago and after a few days of checking bazaar did find the Highland Sludge ( at a low cost-a fellow researcher I bet).

The steps for me were a bit different- I was not required to actuall make ANY spells.

Not sure if the quest is given 2 ways or if some steps are incorrect ?

Event got a research update to 201 getting the trophy.
