There's a bad joke based on your thread title, but I'll refrain . . .

You can choose to make the solutions until skill 243, though not the cheapest method it is certainly going to be the fastest. Try this for your general skill-up needs:

i hunted for hours for the items then when i had the items to make the runes it said these items cannot be combined in this container type. i tried using my class book like the guide on learn a skill research said and then i even tried combining in a spell research kit. i asked general and someone said that they were disabled. thanks peaky for alternate methods.

The container you need to make rune azia and rune beza is Concordance of Research. You get it by a mini-quest in N. Karana (if "good") from Mrysla at the Gypsy tents or in S Ro (if evil) from Smith Tv'ysa. For each, the quest is to turn in a Greater Lightstone. As a helpful hint: anyone can do the combines with the Concordance of Research. This is important because some of the rune componenets are no-trade and tracking is useful. When the rune is made it can be traded to the caster who will combine it with the mate for caster research skill. This combine is in the somewhat new Spell Research Kit.

For all the time one would spend gathering the various materials to make the Azia and Beza runes, it just does not seem like a worthwhile path anymore.

Research freebie in Crescent Reach gets you to 54. No cost. Maybe 30 minutes time invested doing clicks.

55 --> 102 accomplished by making Oil of Vitrol. Extremely low cost. Crystallized Sulphur and Saltpeter very easy to come by in my experience. Your experience may vary, but this beats the hell out of having to farm ultra-grey zones for raw-hide drops and burnt out lightstones, neither of which stack.

Skill ups >100 occur on almost every attempt, so you do not really need a lot of sulphurs/saltpeters.

I think 1 in 2 would be a little more accurate, with occational 1 for 1 runs, but it's all up to the RNG, so some are luckier than others.
