Hiyas, fellow adventurers! I have a level 83 warrior on Drinal and have been toying with the idea of working on Tome Research as its very very rare to find anyone who has them. I've dabbled in it just a little bit so far and it seems a very daunting task. Any advice as to the best way to start and/or find recipes, etc. would be extremely helpful! Thank you very much =)

I made up a guide for Melee Research at http://mboards.eqtraders.com/eq/showthread.php?t=33235 in hopes those on this forum would find it useful.
It gives you the basics of what is involved in Tome Research and why each component is used in hopes that those reading it would be able to extrapolate from it to make currently unknown recipes.
The Spell Research section of http://mboards.eqtraders.com/eq/showthread.php?t=30177 also gives a good guide for skilling up Melee Research, as the newer 6.1 guide is only useable by pure Int Researchers.
Research, both Spell and Melee, looks daunting when you first try it, but I have found it very pleasant in the long run. I keep a single page list of Inks and Additives and if I know what the spell does and what level it is, I virtually never have to look up a recipe anymore. -
