  • Stumped: Shadow Orb

I was just wondering if anyone has been successful combining this 69 DON spell.
I am really not sure where to go on this. It is a nuke, so I used Pain, but then the subsequint orb heals so I tried Tunare....not sure where to go next.
    I have tried this:

    Runic Vellum
    Ink additive of Nameless
    Ink of Pain
    Ink of Tunare
    Conjuring Thickener
    Quill of Arch Lich

I know I am probably way off based but not sure what to try next.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Hmm I would guess one of these. Also note the spell will be no drop.

    Runic Vellum
    Quill of Arch Lich
    Conjuring Thickener
    Luclin's Ink Additive
    Ink of Pain
    Ink of Tunare

    Runic Vellum
    Quill of Arch Lich
    Arcane Thickener
    Luclin's Ink Additive
    Ink of Pain
    Ink of Tunare

    Runic Vellum
    Quill of Arch Lich
    Ink additive of Nameless
    Arcane Thickener
    Ink of Pain
    Ink of Tunare

Hmm maybe the same combos without the Ink of Tunare as well.

      Hmm...still no go

Thanks for the advice. I tried those 3, both with and without Tunare. Again DNC. I know I must be missing something but not sure what.

After reading the spell description it could be Consuming Thickener too.

          Runic Vellum
          Quill of Arch Lich
          Arcane Thickener
          Luclin's Ink Additive
          Ink of Pain
          Ink of Nameless

This is from memory. I've made one. I'll try to confirm this next time I log onto my researcher.

            Noop....

No, that didn't work either. I am going to try extending too, as it is similar to a lifetap....with potential to heal at a later time. Heck, I am grabbing at straws.

              Bingo!!!!

You were right Elfdruidess. That one worked. I guess Nameless works when you don't have a clue what else to use.
              Thanks

              Runic Vellum
              Quill of Arch Lich
              Arcane Thickener
              Luclin's Ink Additive
              Ink of Pain
              Ink of Nameless
              Trivial 363

The Ink of Nameless is for "summoning an item".

Having succeeded at making Shadow Orb, I tried to make Soul Orb. (It's the level 61 necro spell from DoN vendors).

I tried replacing Runic Vellum with Parchment (for level 61 recipes):

                  Soul Orb
                  ---------
                  Parchment
                  Quill of the Arch Lich
                  Arcane Thickener
                  Luclin's Ink Additive
                  Ink of Pain
                  Ink of the Nameless

                  DNC

I tried swapping out Arcane Thickener with Conjuring Thickener and Consuming Thickener. DNC

Tried adding Ink of Zek with same DNC results.

Anyone figure out this recipe or is it a bugged recipe?

Shadow Orb (one of the DoN lvl 69 spells) was added post-SoD launch after TSers enquired about it.

I therefore seriously doubt that the recipe for Soul Orb (one of the DoN lvl 61 spells) is enabled since TSers did not enquire about the DoN lvl 61 spells because these were buyable with Radiant/Ebon crystals and are considered "vendor" spells (similar to TSS Rk. I).

Thanks for your reply, Elfdruidess. I knew that the spell along with other DoN lvl 61 spells were available for purchase for radiant/ebon crystals. Guess I was hoping with SoD expansion, that these spells would be researchable.
