  • Stumped - Vow of Valor

    I'm assuming a few things:

    Rough Paper
    Quill of the Archon
    Ink Additive of the Nameless
    Invigorating Thickener

(see Call of Ice for reference)

    Inks:

    1. Call of Ice uses Zek (atk) to represent a Proc.
    2. Call of Ice does not use Ink of Pain to represent damage, rather it uses Ink of E'Ci. So, the equivalent here is Ink of the Nameless (or was it Rainbows?Chromatic).
    3. Ink of Tunare for the recourse?
    4. What ink for the mitigation factor?!

I've tried various combinations of Tunare, Pain, Zek, Rainbows, and the Nameless...also tried Ink of the Listless, and Consuming Thickener. I'm stumped, and just researching the already-discovered recipes has the potential to make my brain hurt.

    Any help?

Ward of Reprisal uses Pain and Zek.

    Might be applicable....

      busted

Here it the release note I have written

      • Changed the recipe for Vow of Valor Rk. II to use inks of Pain, Tunare, and Zek rather than two Inks of Pain.

so in the short term... 2 inks of pain. When the patch happens it will be proper.

        Vow of Valor
By taking a vow of valor, you sacrifice your healing efficacy for 1 hour for the chance to do increased damage via valorous melee strikes. Each valorous strike invigorates you, replenishing your health

Slot 1: Decrease Healing by -50.00%
Slot 2: Add Proc: Valorous Strike (200% proc rate modifier)
        Valorous Strike
Slot 1: Decrease Hitpoints by 800
Recourse: Valorous Strike Recourse (Increase Hitpoints v2 by 1350 per tick)
        Classes: CLR
        Level: 71
        Target Type: Self

So given that, the following is pretty much a given:

Paper : Rough Paper (level 71)
Quill : Quill of the Archon
        Thickener : Invigorating Thickener
Additive: Ink Additive of the Nameless

        IMO the INKS should be:
Ink of Zek (Add Proc: Valorous Strike)
Ink of Pain (Decrease Hitpoints by 800)
Ink of Tunare (Valorous Strike Recourse)
Decrease Healing by -50.00% doesnt have a caster ink that would fit, so we ignore it

Thats what I believe what the recipie should be.

(but try just 2 inks of pain ... )

No, Ngreth's corrected recipe is appropriate.

Ink of Zek (Add Proc: Valorous Strike)
Ink of Pain (Decrease Hitpoints by 800)
Ink of Pain (Decrease Healing by 50%)
Ink of Tunare (Valorous Strike Recourse)

Actually, Ink of Tunare might be more appropriate than Pain to represent a heal mitigation. Isn't damage mitigation represented by Pain (the "of Vie" line)? Just going on memory here, I'm at work.

Unless i read it wrong, ngreth's and my recipes were the same. Disagree on an ink of pain for decreased Healing done.

I only used one ink of pain. I used some of the old rules since this is a spell and dropped the healing reduction.
