Assuming the recipe was deliberately changed from the obvious to avoid collisions I thought that it may have an ink of ro or maybe an extra pain. It may also use a conjuring thickener, because the spell description says it "summons" ether fire.

Hmm.... Ngreth specifically will have to answer this one.

Looks like an item was added for conflicts, much like how Sample of Highland Sludge was added in GoD.

I never saw any reference to it in beta though.

I read somewhere that Corona Flame (or something else.. hard to remember) produces Ether Flame now but it is no-drop.

I made Corona Flare to test yesterday and it still works. Could be another spell though I dunno.

Desperate Renewal (70 Cleric) uses Chronal Resonance Dust (new drop).

At first I thought this means Chronal Resonance Dust is the equivalent of Highland Sludge. But then, no other lvl 70 Cleric spell has a recipe clash with Desperate Renewal.

So is Chronal Resonance Dust the answer? Or it's in Desperate Renewal to represent something else?

Chronal Resonance Dust is what I was referring too... but no idea what it is or why someone would have tried that in a recipe. There were no systematic research Addendums for this expansion, that i saw, and it wasn't referenced anywhere else, that i saw.

Probably because it is used in making temporite bars for JC.

The recipe for Desperate Renewal was entered into the Database Forum very early:

One possible guess is, remember during that Corona Flare / Ether Flame mix up period? Desperate Renewal was one of those spells that could be made pre-expansion but remained no drop. Meaning Desperate Renewal could possibly have remained in the TS UI after expansion launch and thus, revealing Chronal Resonance Dust in the recipe.

Spear of Ro (70 Mage, PoR) and Star Strike (70 Mage, OoW) share the same recipe. So one of them should need the Chronal Resonance Dust.

However, Spear of Ro just got entered into the Database Forum and *no* Chronal Resonance Dust is used.

I checked my Tradeskill UI for Star Strike and it remains the same as what is reported for Spear of Ro right now.

The only reason I started using Chronal Resonance Dust is because of the original SOD NDA Lifted post(http://mboards.eqtraders.com/eq/showthread.php?t=32330)

And of course, research has already been well discussed, so I don't have anything to add.

Save any Chronal Resonance Dust you get. You will need it a lot.
