  • Help Fickle Fire

My first attempt yielded Burning Sand (or whatever that equivalent is at 69) so I started playing with thickeners, other inks, other additives.. Was at it for about quite awhile before I gave up.

    Anyone successful with this?

In most cases, any of the DoDh+ spells with a proc will require an ink of zek and then inks to corresspond to that proc.

In the case of fickle fire its one Ink of Zek for the chance to proc, another for the spell damage buff / debuff.

        Thank you both.

I figured it must be a proc element. I still don't understand the 2nd Zek. One for the proc, but then the other for the spell damage buff? I figured if it proc'd that would account for the spell damage buff.

Anyway, I'm still confused (but at least I make the spell !)

        Thanks again.

According to Systematic Spell Research Volume Five Ink of Zek is used for
spells that affect how well their target can attack another target.

So .... since the spell that it has a chance to proc an additonal effect warrats a Ink of Zek. (procs = usually increase in your ability to attack / damage a target)

The fact that the proc can increase or decrease your spell damage on your next cast warrats an additional Ink of Zek. (ie the effect of the proc affects how well you can attack another target)

So always use Ink of Zek for the fact that it procs, then look at the proc and include the inks to describe the effect.

Then shouldn't this recipe be the same for Level 75 Intertwining Energy Rank II?

I replaced Ro's Ink Additive with Luclin's Ink Additive, and used a quill of the arcanist instead of course, but DNC.

The proc is identical except that the spell is magic based and a magic spell (according to Kumbaja not Lucy).

Looks like their version of Fickle Fire. I didn't know they had one.

Hmm ... this spell doesn't appear on my list of researchable spells.

Edit : Ahh ... its a TBS spell, none of those were included in the research list for this expasion.

Intertwining Energy is a Buried Sea spell.

Research is only enabled up to TSS Rank II. TBS is not available yet.

/bonk yeah I figured that out after I'd gone to bed.

I just rolled out or I'd have posted sooner.

                  Thanks you guys.
