Are melee limited to certain recipes with which to skill up given that they can only make tomes or can they skill up on spell sub-combines, also?

I'm guessing it depends on how tomes are made. Assuming that meele tomes are researched using parchments and solutions like regular spells, i would guess that those subcombines are fair game for skullup. I'm still patching though so i havent been in game to take a look.

What's involved in cleaning solutions? Do you have spare junk for me, or do I have to buy it all up with Lilbraen? =)Originally posted by Mester View PostIIRC, Ngreth said melee can skillup on the cleaning solutions. That will get you to 243, if you want to spend a lot of plat. After that, you need to make tomes.

Melee can make the quills, inks, etc. to skill up. Much like casters did when the system first came out.
0 - 35 Quill of the *****
36 - 54 Vial of Pure Water- Save all.
55 - 102 Oil of Vitrol - Save all.
103 - 144 Parchment Solution
145 - 174 Fine Parchment solution
175 - 203 Vellum Parchment solution
204 - 216 Fine Vellum Parchment solution
217 - 243 Runic Parchment Solution
At 243, you start making tomes that trivial 244-300+

The answer is not yet, but Soon(tm).Originally posted by smithee125 View PostIs there a trophy quest for melee research? The quest giver in West Freeport thumbed her nose at my warrior's "/say research"; wondering if I've overlooked the obvious (...or should assume the obvious: NO...)
They can't just give you the same quest INT classes did, since you can't make any of the spell combines. So it has to be a whole new quest(s) to program for the other classes.

Am I right in assuming the Geerlok +5% research item isn't zerk-equipable?Originally posted by Zacatac View PostThe answer is not yet, but Soon(tm).

Melee and hybrids don't have an item they can use that modifies research yet. The geerlok is for caster types still. There is supposed to be a new trophy quest in the future.
Priest classes can use the Thought Horror Scalp which adds 5% to research.

I fixed this yesterday... AFTER the patch.Originally posted by Wolfmaster02 View PostUpdate on research trophy. I finished the beginner quest for the trophy but it it still marked for Intel Casters only
.
It just needs another patch.
And yes, currently you can ONLY dot he research quest if you do it between skill 50 and 99 so get it done early. I do plan on fixing this, but it was not a fix I could fit in before launch.

I have a question about the trophy. I also completed the quest and have the one that is still only int caster usable. I know I've read something here about this before but can't find it.
If I don't equip it/evolve it until I am, for example, skill 180 - will it not evolve more quickly to 'catch up' at that point?
