My wife is bringing up Shaman, and when she dinged 25, she got a research skill? She has a skill of 1/200. I didn't think Shaman could research.

has to be a bug my 31 shm doesnt have any research which should be int casters only to get. I know all servers are coming down tonight for another patch not sure if thats one of the reasons or not.

It seems to happen now and again that you get a skill that does not apply to your class, then it just vanishes a few hours or weeks later.
My Wizard was hit by a mob and gained a Riposte skill of 1. Two or so months later, I noticed the skill was gone, and I certainly do not recall ever actually Riposting anything while I had the skill.
In a similar vein, I started a young Shaman, who hit level 16 and gained a Tinkering skill of 1. That lasted until I zoned, then went away.Comment

Also, there are some items that sometimes give you a +mod in a skill you don't have by accident. You can't use it, but sometimes it shows up on your stats.

Seems to be one of those bugs...she still has the skill level of one, but doesn't appear that she can utilize it.Comment

My BST on FV got the skill at level 20, he still has it at 37 and I was wondering if he could use research to make spells. I guess not. bummer.Comment
