Please post what you ACTUALLY used. Since you already made the combine, you should be able to just bring up the tradeskill UI and search for Confidence. (If only searching for confidence were always so easy.)

Here are the two recipes with the difference highlighted.

Ink of Tunare(2),
Invigorating Thickener,
Quill of the Archon

To me, looking at those two recipes with systematic research in mind, the both look exactly right. Balikor doesn't change AC, but Confidence does. I make Balikor fairly often, so I'm pretty sure the recipe listed is correct.
