Spell Research 200+

I have been at the cap for 200 from way back in the day when you had to get the words to combine them. Now my question is how do advance above 200. I have the trophy for research but the cap still shows 200. I do see the AA points but they only cover the "other" tradeskills. What i am overlooking thanks in advance.

You dont have to do anything... make stuff to advance your skill.

Are you on Combine server?

Are you using an old custom UI?


Those are the only two possible reasons I can think of why you would see the research cap listed at 200 instead of 300.

I know they made this more "tradeskillish" awhile back when they got rid of the cap, did they make it where you had to have POP aa's to advance this past 200 if you already have a tradeskill at 200 plus? (don't have my toon in front of me atm). If that's not the case there are a bunch of new things you can do besides, or instead of words now. Take a look at the thread titled "200-250 skill practicing ", there's some good suggestions there. The new spell caster essences are a definite thing you need to read up on. IF you're on combine then be aware that no 66 and above spells can be made at the time of this posting, nor LDON spells I believe. Hope this helps.

no, you only need New Tanaan Crafting Mastery AAs w.r.t. the basic 7 skills...for every one of those you want to raise above the cap, you need to buy teh NTCM aa, but not for Research, Alchemy, Tinkering and Poison making

Make the 2 Focus Simple Spellcaster's Essence spells then stock up on simple binding powders. Add A Piece of Parchment, Simple Binding Powder, Simple Binding Solution, Simple Spellcaster's Empowering Essence to make a Simple Enchanted Spell Parchment (triv 192). Then add Quill of the Arcane, Simple Enchanted Spell Parchment and your choice of Ink of Ro, Ink of E'ci, Ink of Bertoxxulous, Ink of Saryrn, or Ink of Druzzil Ro (triv 210) to get you past the 200 mark.
