I'm having a hard time finding recipes that will help me train my skill to around 250. Any suggestions please?

Make the 65 spell solutions to 243. Thereafter is is just spells. Unless you can get hold of drakewing webbing for research clay to get to 262.

Where does one find the drake webbing, is it dropped?

Webbing comes from drakes in sunderspring. Not sure if other drakes drop it. Can be bought in baz from traders.

Though not loaded in the database yet, binding powders are incredibly easy to find in bazaar / vendors to get to 250. Check the SoF submission thread...or someone else who may post after me.

They offer another skillup path for about 1/10th the cost.

          300+ trivial are:
          elaborate binding powder
          ornate
          intricate
          runed

Again, this is just the dropped portion, the rest is vendor.

So, let me see if I understand the new skill-up path:

Step 0: create the scroll that creates the Spellcaster's Essence for the level you want. (Drop component - 1 hide or parchment of the right level), and scribe it.

Step 1: Cast it to get an Essence (or multiple, if Mass version).

Step 2: Combine that with vendor-bought parchment and appropriate Binding Solution and (dropped) Binding Powder to create Xxx enchanted spell parchment.

Step 3: Create a 1-use clickable "Scroll of Abc Strike" using appropriate Quill and Ink.

Then repeat steps 1-3 as necessary till you max the skill for the Essence you have, then step up to the next Essence spell and repeat?

If this is really it (i.e. potentially 2 attempts per drop), I'm going to be so glad not to have to do endless parchment solutions to gain skill - and I think I'll be quite happy to buy the ready-made Acids rather than farm saltpeter and crystallized sulfur...

If I understand correctly, if you have a low level spell research mule, like I do, you are going to need to either buy the Spellcaster's Essences in the bazaar or have a high level caster cast them for you.

Something else to keep in mind is that it looks like the Spellcaster's Essences are temporary items.

No, you don't have to buy the essences because the spells aren't too high a triv. It's best to try the mass enchant for convenience. However, I sell the higher essences I create for a moderate price because it would be cheaper to buy the essences than make the spells to cast the essences, in some cases. That is, you can buy my essences and skill up for less than the 4k it would cost to buy the stationary to make the essence spell (if you make it on the first try).

Making the spells is not the problem. My low level spell research mule (level 16) it too low a level to scribe and hence, cast, most of the spells that summon the essences.

My researcher is a lvl 66 Necromancer, so he can get up to the Intricate essence himself, which appears to be good enough to hit 300. (Currently 207).

Ok .. (first post here and trying to get skilled up as well)

Using the path of the "solutions" (skill presently is at 161)
(in my case skill 145 - 174 Fine Parchment solution)

                      153pp Aqua Regia
                      21pp Gold bars
                      5pp Heat source
1p Vials of water (after combine)
                      90pp Fire emerald

270pp total each to build (success or fails)

And yes I do understand there are subcombines that can create "cheaper".

                      I'm confused on a few things ---
Cast spell to get an Essence. (What "level" spell is needed, or what "level" essence is needed)

Combine that with vendor-bought parchment and appropriate Binding Solution and (dropped) Binding Powder to create Xxx enchanted spell parchment.
(I'm presuming the parchments are the "Piece of Parchments", and the solutions are created)

Create a 1-use clickable "Scroll of Abc Strike" using appropriate Quill and Ink.
(Quill and Ink also created, NP there...)

Steps are repeated till a cap is reached, then a new Essence spell is needed to move higher. (or bazaar purchase the essence's)

Just wondering if there is a "compiled" listing yet. 270pp a crack can be a large chunk of money when popping to a 200+ skill.

                      Trying to follow along here.

                      Thanks

ACK ... Just found a listing on Allakhazam's

Unfortunatly, I'm unable to post the link. But I found it by a search for Intricate Spellcaster's Empowering Essence and clicked on the link posted by Giloff

I also condensed this into a (usable) work doc ... (if ya'll want one, or for me to post it ... lemme know)

I will proceed and look into the finance issue and see if this is any better.

                        Thanks

                          Hmm...

all things being normal ... (have not tried the simple)

                          Simple Enchanted Spell Parchment - Difficulty 192 - uses the following (presumed);
A Piece of Parchment -- Bought
                          Simple Binding Solution -- Bought
                          Simple Binding Powder -- Dropped
Simple Spellcaster’s Empowering Essence -- Cast

and --- (also not tried the refined)

                          Refined Enchanted Spell Parchment - Difficulty 272 - uses the following (presumed);
A Piece of Parchment -- Bought
                          Refined Binding Solution -- Bought
                          Refined Binding Powder -- Dropped
Refined Spellcaster’s Empowering Essence -- Cast

                          So ---

                          Enchanted Spell Parchment - Difficulty (Unknown) - uses the following (presumed);
A Piece of Parchment -- Bought
                          Binding Solution -- Bought
                          Binding Powder -- Dropped
                          Spellcaster’s Empowering Essence -- Cast

Results in a "cannot combine in this container type"

                          Am I missing something?

                          Thanks

The "non-adjective" enchanted parchment combine is currently turned off. It should be working after tomorrow's patch.
