  • Removing Old Recipies

Would it be prudent to disable / remove / hide the old school research recipies currently listed in the database? We seem to be getting alot of "this posted recipie does't work" posts.

Are old recipes getting updated? or are new ones being added?

If each recipe old recipie is being updated with the new ones as they are being discovered, I do have a listing from beta of the recipies that might speed up the process. Its basically the spreadsheet that Ngreth posted on EditGrid.com with any of the changes that were suggested and accepted during beta. I just dont want to post them if the community wants to discover the recipies themselves, or if its against the NDA ....

Ngreth would have to speak to the NDA part of it. If the information was public before beta started, then I have no problem posting it.

The catch is, there's no easy, automated way to remove all the old recipes, like I could do with the new armors. I basically need some ingredient or combination of ingredients that uniquely identifies which recipes are safe to remove. I don't know enough about the old spell research to figure that out.

As an example, the old cultural armors all used "Grandmaster's XXX Bar" or "Intricate XXX Swatch" or something similar. This gave me a limited set of items I could search for, and then delete any recipes that used them -- I knew for certain that any recipes using those items were obsolete and safe to delete.

If you can find me some ingredient or combination of ingredients that is used exclusively in spell recipes to delete, I can do a mass deletion. Otherwise, we have to wait for spells to get updated as recipes are entered.

Keep in mind that the spreadsheet posted by Ngreth doesn't have the spell names correctly labeled with the recipes. Whether by design or accident, the spreadsheet doesn't really help -- unless someone wants to go in one by one and figure out the individual components, combine them, and correct the sheet.

as I stated above, my copy is amended with alll the changes that were suggested and approved during beta.

It's best if the recipes are confirmed to be working on Live servers, before being inputted.

Are there any recipes remaining that work in the old research books? That could be a place to start.

That could be an option, if it's confirmed that EVERY single recipe in the old containers is gone.

I would also need the exact names of the old containers, please, if that's the case.

Ean, do you have a current copy of that spreadsheet you could post? The only one I have is the one you posted from editgrid.com [user/kyroskrane/New_Spell_Recipes], in which it appears someone sorted the first column without including the other columns (so that the spell names and spell recipes no longer match).

Could this also be the source of all the wrong recipe confusion that's going on?

                  Thanks

You can make the sheet public.

But... as mentioned, data entry to the EQTC DB should not be done from that sheet.

Any errors on that sheet are not my responsibility though!

                      Just want to be sure...

So, before I go and sell off the rest of my research components (after vendoring nearly 120 slots worth of Runes, Words and "oddball"s like Writ of Quellious and Runed Emblem) I'd like to make sure that I have this correct: Aside from Yaeth's Compendiums 25Right, 73Right, 78Right, Tohar's Memoir 15Right, and the couple other's listed above, I can be confident that my other Y's, T's, K's et al. are now no longer used in spell research and are "safe" to sell to a vendor? It's taken me quite some time to collect these and I have quite a few. I'd love the room in bank inventory but...you know

                      Thanks!

edit: ACK! Meant to post this in the "Don't sell it all off yet.." thread. Sorry :/
