  • Mage Pet Spells... Help Please...

I know that with the system being so new people probably don't have a good idea of what makes what yet, or maybe they do? I looked at everything this vendor in Corathus Creep has and none of it seems to teach me how to make anything.

I only need a couple of pet spells made, so any help would be appreciated if anyone knows how to make...

Spell: Greater Summoning: Water (Research, 95 trivial)
Spell: Summoning: Water (1) Crafted with Research, 62 Trivial
    Flame of Vox (1) Dropped
    Words of Coercion (1) Dropped

    AND

Spell: Greater Conjuration: Water (Research, 182 trivial)
Spell: Conjuration: Water (1) Storebought Crafted with Research, 162 Trivial
    Tears of Prexus (1) Dropped
    Words of Bondage (1) Dropped

That last one is by far the most important to me, if anyone could possibly give me the new receipe for it.

    Thanks.

    Pet spells

Since the pet spells have been changed over to the new research, all you have to do is look up a similar (earth/fire/air/water) pet spell to the type you want and then just substitute the proper parchment/hide. This link should answer any of your "parchment/hide" questons.

      To clarify:

All pet spells will need- Ink additive of the Nameless, Conjuring Thickner, ink of the companion and malachite.

The level of spell dictates the needed skin/hide/paper etc.

The pet type dictates what ink of for the pet:

      ink of xegony is air
      ink of E'ci is water
      ink of Ro is fire
ink of the Rathe is earth

        No Malachite!

I just made Summoning: Fire and Summoning: Water this morning. Nothing seemed to work, and I thought I was going to go crazy.

Then I decided to try it WITHOUT malachite. Bingo!

        Summoning: Water
        Prepared Fine Hide
        Quill of the Arch Convoker
        Ink of the Companion
        Ink of E'Ci
        Ink Additive of the Nameless
        Conjuring Thickener

        Summoning: Fire
        Smooth Fine Hide
        Quill of the Arch Convoker
        Ink of the Companion
        Ink of Ro
        Ink Additive of the Nameless
        Conjuring Thckener

No malachite was used in these recipes.

malachite isnt used in any mage pet recipies. Since they use an extra ink to distinguish the pet type it isnt needed.

            malachite just a reagent

Malachite is just the reagent. Just need to have in your possession when casting the pet spell. wouldn't make sense to include it in the spell recipe imo.

Spell Reagents in Spell Crafting Recipe

Actually, the sources clearly state that the item used/consumed in summoning the pet is needed in the spell as well. Expl: Necro Pet summoning uses a Bone Chips.

I wonder why this spell is different....

Unless this particular pet line doesn't consume the reagent... in which case its not a reagent...

ok, now my brain is hurting

All magician spells I have made so far up to level 47 ones don't use a malachite in the recipe.

The high level enc ones all have a tiny dagger, all nec ones have a bone chip. Maybe the malachite was forgotten for the magician spells.

Then again, the levitation spells don't use a bat wing as ingredient.

All pet spells are effectively the same:
                  • Appropriate Stationery
                  • Appropriate Quill
                  • Ink Additive of the Nameless
                  • Conjuring Thickener
                  • Ink of the Companion
                  • ADDITIONAL ITEM

For ENC / NEC, the additional item is the regeant. For Mage pets its an Ink to Represent the TYPE of pet. Im guessing this method was used for mage pets because they have a much greater variety of pets and originally , you got the 4 pets all at the same time (which would cause recipie conflicts if only the malachite was used).

This "rule" isnt specifically stated in the orginal systematic volumes, but Ngreth has commented on it here on the boards before.

Also remember the original spells we could research were PoP. Most PoP mage pets don't have a reagent.
