The new spells for summoning the Spellcaster Essence follow a fairly straightforward pattern. Ngreth's comment in the New All/All thread finally tipped me off.

Look in Lucy. Not all classes get the higher essences at the same level.

Enchanters get Focus Ornate Spellcaster's Essence at 70 while Nec/Wiz/Mag get it at 75.

Sure enough:

It's a typo ...

The level 75 spell should be using Fine Runic Paper.

Mana Flare did not proc, no random numbers, so I assume Fury of Magic doesn't factor in either.

Are there books with recipes used to make these scrolls? I'm planning to raise my research (currently 202 and has been for ages) so I can make these spells but of course I want to know what to do with them once I make them. This whole new system is currently a mystery to me.

No, the books are not used to make the recipes. Click on eqtraders main page. On the left is "learn a skill" then on "spell research." Please click that to see how systematic research works. It is all the same. The only difference is that lower research uses hides and such.

In a nutshell: need stationary (papyrus, spell scroll, paper, hides, etc), ink (made using vendor components), a quill (made using vendor components), thickener (made using vendor components), and additives (vendor bought). The stuff made to prepare the stationary is all vendor bought.

The books on the vendors explain how you find out what items you need based on what the spell does. Or, refer paragraph one of my reply and save yourself some plat.
