  • Downward trend in mechanoinstructions

For the last month now, ever since TBS came out, the pieces used in making mechanoinstructions has been drying up.

I used to buy Scrindite's Instruction Ink from other players (up to 10k each), and nobody is selling them now. I haven't seen any being made for sale since TBS.

Also, many of the raw mechanotablets are no longer around. I used to keep 1 of each type of instruction for sale, now I have lots of empty holes and I simply cannot replace the product any longer.

So, just a warning to the rest of the researchers, these things are becoming very rare. I'm quite tempted to just pull my entire inventory off my trader and drop it in guildbank so we will have some for when we need them.

You can, of course, get your guild busy on collecting all the parts needed to do combines if your regularly getting bazu or last blood augs made. But as a single player (and no forage skill), I'm not about to do all of that. And it's hard to get those rare/random tablets for the 1 specific you actually want to drop.

To a certain extent, it's the "new expansion" effect -- and after a while things recover somewhat -- but TSS and TBS have made DoN and DoD largely obsolete, so yes, the supplies are definitely going to dry up...

As a guild that is currently farming Shyra for Bazu, and working on MPG trials to enter anguish, it's certainly something we will be needing to do.

Right now, if somebody asks me "can you make the instructions for xxxxx?", I'd have to say "No, not unless you have all the pieces". Even if they offered me 100k, I'd have no way to gather all the components.

Since you already have the hard part (the holepuncher and instruction manual) you can do the rest. The mechanotablets can be farmed in Corrathus Creep, solo 65+ or lower with a group.

The real "hard part" now is the Dreadspire Gargoyl Dust. This can be farmed with about any group of 70s, and 1-3 balanced 75s.

Everything else is vendor, common or easily farmed. The exceptio of course being if you never leave the bazaar with your level 1 tradeskiller / bazaar mule, but even then you should be able to pick up any of hte items at a reasonable price from traders, set yourself as a buyer and/or contract someone to get the items for you.

As a level 75 ranger, I farm just about everything I use for tradeskills (I say just about, because I will buy items if they have a great price and lage quantity (recent examples; 245 saltpeter at 4pp each, 136 Blessed Dust of Tunare at 16pp each).

It's all about play style and supply and demand. There is still a market there, just not as big a market as before (especially with the level increase to 75, and the deminishing returns from the level 70 augs).

I think you will also find the raw materials for making the armor that you put these augs in is also drying up. Metallic Drake Scale prices have started climbing again and there are fewer to be found in the bazaar.

I expect this trend will slow down or even stop entirely, but I don't expect prices and availability will return to what they were.
