  • How about those level 1 tutorial spells?

Not everyone can get TSS so they can't just head to crescent reach. And unless the no trade flag was killed, people who started before tutorial zone became available or skipped tutorial will be missing a level 1 spell from the spell book.

A few people like me are picky enough to require a 100% complete spellbook.

If those level 1 spells are still no trade, can they be made available to those who needs or wants it, can't go to tutorial, and don't have TSS expansion? Maybe via a very low trivial spell research since they have zero value to merchant?

Well, 2 things here. You'll have a hard time getting some spells (like ancients) period. Beyond that, if you don't have TSS, there are some spells you won't be able to get at all. Why not just consider these spells among that list?

(Not being difficult...I feel much the same way, but I have all the expansions and am still starting to come around to the fact that I'll never have most of my 69-70 spells.)

It was technically possible prior to TSS. There was a post once from someone who made a new wizard bot, PLed it to 70, and bought the port group to bind AA. He never changed his bind point from the tutorial. He then shrouded his main to level 5, and ported into the tutorial to buy the spell.

Hmmm...if you have a fast-zoning machine, it *might* be possible to delevel down to 10, log out, log back in to the tutorial, buy the spell, then use the "Expedient Recovery" veteran AA to restore your levels.

Note: I would NOT recommend trying this.

For one, I doubt that the ER AA has gone through extensive testing regarding how many levels you could regain through a single use...let's just say I won't be trying it.

Secondly, I'm not sure you could die enough to delevel that much in under 3 hours...especially given zoning time. If you assume 5% of XP per death (ranges from 4-10% in the 50-75 range, I think), then you'd need to die 65*20 = 1300 times in under 3 hours. That would be around 8 seconds per death (leaving 400 seconds to log out, log in, buy the spell, and use ER.) You'd have to click fast AND zone fast to accomplish that.

I'm pretty sure ER would crash the zone if you summoned 1300 corpses.

Note that the amount of time and effort required for these work arounds is probably much higher than the amount of time it would take in RL to earn the $30 to buy TSS so you could just buy the spell.

Could someone explain what spells they are talking about?

I looked at all the level 1 wizard spells and I already have them all and my character was created years before the tutorial came on line. I've certainly not bought any level 1 spells since... level 1.

One thing I did note... there are 2 spell scrolls for one of the level 1 wizard spells. Blast of Cold is what it is called now. When I made my character it was Shock of Frost. Lucy lists 2 scrolls (Blast of Cold and Shock of Frost) that both scribe the same spell.

Are you sure that there are in fact, spells from tutorial that cannot be obtained anywhere else?

Before the new tutorial, hybrids didn't have any spells at level 1. I believe they got their first spells around 9. When the tutorial was created, they were each given a single level 1 spell so as to allow them to learn how to use spells as well.

The NO TRADE spells can be bought in Crescent Reach now, but the OP doesn't own TSS so can't buy them.
