  • Spirit of the Panther/other DoN spells?

Right off the bat: I think that allowing the level 69 and level 70 OOW spells to be researched is great.

I do kind of wonder, however, about the DoN spells/Disciplines being left out, such as, for example, 'Spirit of the Panther.' Getting these through the DoN progression requires one to get to Amiable - perhaps pretty easy a year ago when everyone and their sister wanted to do 'Creator' missions, but a royal pain now as DoN is pretty unpopulated. It is hard to get groups to do missions. Worse, there is no upgrade tio these spells/disciplines in TSS, so just 'doing without' for a few levels isn't an option. One has to do faction.

Is any thought being given to making the various DoN spells/Disciplines researchable, now that we are comeing up on two years (and with the Buried Sea, four expansions) since DoN came out?

OoW spells became researchable just recently. DoN spells may be next but it may still be amonths away but I would think researchable version could be coming this year

You can get the lower level version for some crystals, you know.

Sure, its only level 61 but if the line only has the one upgrade, you can make do with the 61 instead of the 69 spell. At least, you can make do with it long enough to form groups to do DoN missions so you can do the progression tasks (and raid) required for Tier 2 DoN completion (which is worthwhile for the DoN AA's alone - imo the 69 spell should have been for tier 3 completion simply because tier 3's reward is so lame otherwise).

Quest spells aren't researchable. I expect the 69 DoN spell to fall under the quest category and therefore not be researchable. No tomes are researchable and the ogre has said several times, something like, what do casters know about melee.

I don't expect any new research recipes this time, unless older research is updated into the new system.

DoDh spells being researchable this fall is what worries me. Strictly speaking they are all quested so should not be researchable. I hope this is not going to be true.

I, for one, would love it if DoN and DoDH spells become researchable. It is impossible to find people who want to do either these days, it is the same situation as what happened with LDoN in the past.

The aspect I find frutrating is that there just aren't the folks interested in DoN anymore to do the missions to get the faction and eventually to do the raids.

If people were doing DoN - perhaps if there were new folks joining EQ that were 'progressing' through expansions - then forming groups to do missions would be pretty easy. Or at least a pretty reasonable expectation. Trying to get folks to do four-expansion old content now, with current server populations, is a lot more problematic.

Plenty of raid guilds still do DoN content regularly for progression.

Course for them (us) Emoush is a 1 group event.

Yep, a lot of things take networking among folks on your particular server to get set up to do old content. It isn't easy as sitting in PoK with the ol' /LFG up any longer. I wish it was, but it isn't. It comes down to if you want it enough you can find the folks who also want to do it and get it accomplished. (Bleh! I'm sounding like a lecture from my Dad. I am officialy an "Old Fart Geezer" now.... just shoot me... please.)
