Remove Curse - Help

Ok so trying to make Remove Curse for Cleric - 38th lvl spell. The following DNC:

Smooth Fine Runic Hide
Quill of the Archon
Ink Additive of the Nameless
Ameliorating Thickener
Ink of Terris Thule

This would follow the recipe for Remove Lesser Curse. I also tried two inks, and tried Debilitating Thickener (w/ 1 or 2 inks) all DNC.

Any thoughts?

I believe that spell was already in game and kept the same ingredients. I could be wrong, I could be confusing Greater Remove Curse with it.

Yep I was cornfoozled. Lesser Remove Curse (LDoN), Minor Remove Curse (LDoN) and Greater Remove Curse (old school) were the one I saw in search.

The spell you are trying to make is a Luclin era spell, so it cannot be made with systematic spell research. If there is a recipe for it, it would have gone in during the LOY expansion. I did a quick search here, and did not find it. So, I am betting there never was a recipe for it.

On the very minute, remote chance that the recipe did get put in, it is a multi-class spell. So you would have needed a Quill of the Divine, instead of Archon.

The good news is: soloing the mushroom that drops the spell is trivial for anyone who actually needs to be able to remove curses.

No, Quill of the Archon would be correct for the cleric version - going on the premise that it was an LDoN spell, which I was.

I saw on Alla's this was purchased with LDoN points so figured it should be researchable with the new research put in for the LDoN spells. I guess I'm still not understanding why it's not researchable. Ah well.

Remove Curse & Remove Greater Curse spells were in existence pre-LDoN, but added to the LDoN vendors as an alternate way to get them. RGC is a very necessary spell to have on many raids.

RGC also has an older recipe to create it, but with a very rare component. I've made only 3 or 4 of the spells over the years.

It's quite possible Remove Curse was not considered valuable enough to make a recipe for it at the time they made the RGC one. And since it is a Luclin spell, it wasn't included in the latest batch of recipes. In fact RGC was not included either, as they wanted it to stay a rare drop recipe.

There are several Luclin mob-drop only spells that do not have a recipe of any kind.

Thanks Zac. I guess I was missing the point about it existing before LDoN, which I should have know LOL. I also have only ever made 3 copies of RGC and I know they did not convert that to the new systematic research (to keep it "rare" I'm sure).

Was trying to help a friend's baby cleric out as he has requested this. Guess I'll just go kill the mushroom man for him instead LOL.

Info from Beta testers indicates that Remove Curse is under TSS research while Remove Greater Curse is not. See this post: http://mboards.eqtraders.com/eq/show...97&postcount=3

It should be Quill of the Divine though. Because the LDoN spell scroll looks like this:

Spell: Remove Curse
MAGIC ITEM NO TRADE
Level Needed: SHM(38), CLR(38), PAL(45), DRU(38)

Mana Cost: 75
Spell Effect: Cleanses your target's soul, removing minor curses.

While Remove Minor Curse and Remove Lesser Curse come in 4 different spell scrolls for the 4 different classes, Remove Curse comes in one single spell scroll for all 4 classes. So the Quill used is different.

Remove Curse and Remove Greater curse are the only 2 LDoN spells that remained NOTRADE, so I am fairly sure that there is no recipe for Remove Curse.
