69 and up spells

Howdy folks, I'm on bertox and a ~middling researcher. Anyway, me=poor. And while i'd love to make my own spells.. i look at the new system and think..... not even if my toes were in a vice would i want to learn this subcombine heavy junk.

It's a better system all in all than the old book system, I'll give it that..... but ... subcombines. Just not goint to rip my thinning hair out.

Anyway, wanted to ask if there was a necro type researcher on bert, who is capable of making the 69-70 spells, and might be willing to do some combines provided i supply the materials. If i can supply the materials that is. grrr hard to find stuff And subcombines grrrrr. Anyway. i'd be happy to pay what i can, but i wasnt kidding about being poor.

Bertox was my home server ... the only high level researchers I knew while there's was a necro in PR named Niinki I believe (max research). Kenmanjo was also working on research, but dont think he gets on much. Nyreel also dabbles in it too I believe.

If 20k is out of your range, I'd wish you a lot of luck purchasing any 69/70 spells. The cheapest I've seen any are 30k (granted, I'm not checking often.) You may be able to find a friendly soul who will do the combine for you cheap...then again, you may not. Either way, I wish you luck.

I'm generally paying 20k just for vellums for 69/70 spells. At least on my server.

Unfortunately the only way you're going to get cheaper than 20k is to go out and hunt the vellums yourself.

Many people are selling the 70 vellums for 10-20k each, and the 69 vellums for 5-10k each. And that's just part of the cost of 1 attempt to make a spell, after you do some sub-combines and more plat on ingredients.

20-25k for a 69 spell, 30-45k for a 70 spell, is about the range on my server.

Try to get some vellums, and then offer a research 5k per finished spell to do the combines.

Hunting them myself is what i had in mind. Most likely the way this will go down is, me=75 by the time i get a halfway full spellset of things from 5 levels ago. And won't care about piddling 69-70 spells because i have a better toolset from hunting for the stupid things in the first place. Thats the way it's worked in the past.


Wonder if they've considered putting in some kind of long tedious pain in the neck quest for a rune or two for those level spells. I could live with a month or two long quest that i could solo to get a component. Would give us all that are plauged with the "honey can you cmere, sweetie will you take this to the..., why are you always on the computer you don't love me ...." thing.

You know, just because they added research for these spells doesn't mean they removed the old method....

I recommend Ruins of Illsalin for Greater runes and Dreadspire Keep for Glowing.

For some, getting the 69-70 runes is tough business. If the OP is not well raid geared he is not going to get these from DS and not likely from RSS/Ilsallin. At that point he might be better off farming stuff for the plat to buy the spells, or as he notes above, farming the vellums.

(It's nice to have options)
