Research may not get a lot of attention for the next expansion or two, since we've gotten a lot of it recently.
BUT it is invaluable as a tool for allowing the more "casual" players to fill out their spellbooks, in that spells that they may have had difficulty obtaining (ex: LDOn or level 69/70 OoW) are now more obtainable (even if they need to farm some plat to buy them in the bazaar, as opposed to farming the actual components)
I think as long as EQ is alive and kicking, we'll get new recipes.
