Well, I know it's only been a few days since release, but I'm a bit concerned at what I've seen in the bazaar.

Sooty Fine Runic Vellum & Shabby Runic Vellum are not to be found. I've been checking bazaar frequently over the last few days. There was ONE for sale (which I bought) and haven't seen one since.

I've been monitoring the buyers. They have 3 guys that all put in for 20 of each, started at 10k to buy. Then 11k. Then 15k. Now 20k each. Simply put, they aren't getting anyone to sell to them, and they keep going up (and trying to outbid each other) in hopes somebody will sell them a vellum.

So, by my calculations of those 3 buyers, plus the one I bought, there has been approximately 8 total sold of the 69 & 70 vellums. Now I'm sure there are some sitting in guildbanks somewhere (not mine, I already looked!) but this is going to be pretty tough. We have about 1-2 per day that the entire server gets to fight over.

Can't say I'm going to find much use for this new set of recipes at the rate of 1 combine attempt per week.

A lot of people are currently pushing for level 75 in zones they are familiar with like Riftseekers & The Nest before exploring the new zones. Once teh rush to level is over you will start seeing more new items hit teh market.

I can't even get it to come up in the buyer window so I can create a buy.

I presume that means one hasn't dropped on The Nameless at all yet.

The notion that the buyer window only shows items that have dropped on the server is absolutely incorrect. There are items from TSS that I've had in my inventory and even in /trader since the first day TSS launched that are still not accessible in buyer.

As far as the fine sooty runic vellums, I've aquired a few of them, I know one came from ashengate, and I looted another in valgarin mines. They SHOULD be rare in my opinion, the trivials are so high it is quite clear they are not meant as a skillup to 300 path.

1 in 10 from apropriate level caster mobs. I may move it up a bit... but not sure yet.

It would be even better if they dropped from appropriate level caster mobs in PoR and DoD too.

Judging by the fact that we're talking lvl 75+ caster mobs dropping these (Vergalid Mines/Ashengate/Frostcrypt), all I can really say is good luck finding those level of casters in DoDh and PoR on a regular enough basis.

Like the above poster stated... with the fact that 69.1 is swamped with people, same with RSS... there hasn't been an overly huge amount of farming in the new zones. Some, yes... but give it a month... they will probably show up a bit more frequently.

I was hoping "appropriate level" was 71+. If it's 75+, then I agree there is not much point.

Yes, I'd like to think "appropriate level" would be 71+, so any caster mob that used to con yellow or higher to us at 70. They are level 69 & 70 spell pieces after all.

After personally selling over 1,000 level 65 spells on my server, I just know the demand for 69 & 70 will never be met at the level of droprate I've seen this opening week. But maybe a lot of people were busy in Nest, RSS, etc. grinding xp (as the above poster suggested) rather than the newest zones.

                  I'll see if I get any more by next week. {crosses fingers}

And for 66-68 levels, I've just been telling people to continue buying the runes instead. Faster and easier to get those.

                    ...

Why the assumption that appropriate level mobs will be above the level at which the spells are needed? Not everyone subscribes to the "level quick then catch up" theory. Some of us do actually prefer to get our spells before we move on to the next level.

I had one of the new OoW parchments drop while completing a task in Sunderock Springs. I forget offhand exactly which it was, and I'll verify it later, but the mob it dropped from couldn't have been higher than level 65, since my 68 cleric could pacify it. The drop rate I saw while completing the previously mentioned task was either 1 in 10 or 1 in 15 -- I didn't note at the time exactly how many were casters and how many weren't, but I'm sure to do the task again for other characters. I'll be sure to take more notes next go.

There is a HUGE difference between the 66-67-68 parchments dropping and the 69/70's. The 66-67-68 parchments are really just skillup alternatives since the 66-67-68 muramite runes are tradable, and QUITE cheap. The 69/70 spells are nodrop, and as a result, the vellums for them only drop off tough mobs.

But hey, I'd be willing to bet 500 plat that what you saw drop was actually a runic hide, aka ldon spells.

Bought total of 4 sooty parchments in bazaar ...1000 pp 5000 pp 7000 pp 7000 pp

Made 2 HoC and one Steeloak / had one failure.

Sold each one for 50 kpp each.

Now cant find anymore cept for one that was 30 kpp and it didnt last long I belive. I didnt buy it...thats alot of pp for a fairly high failure rate.

I dont see any use for the 66 67 68 parchments at this point for me anyways as I have 300 research and am almost done with trophy.I guess it will be a cheap way to skill up ..maybe..depending on the drop rates to come.

sooty fine runic papyrus by any chance? there is no listing for either sooty parchment (or sooty fine runic parchment) or sooty fine runic vellum on The Nameless.

I'm beginning to wonder if the drop tables are bugged on my server.

No, he said he made Hand of Conviction with them, a level 70 spell ( http://www.eqtraders.com/items/show_...r=035000000000 ).
He means Sooty Fine Runic Vellum.

On my server, Sooty Fine Runic Vellum & Shabby Runic Vellum are both listed in Buyer mode windows.
