  • Best Selling Spells

I'd be interested in knowing what spells have sold best and most consistantly from some of you that have already maxxed the skill.

If you don't feel like posting it here, just the name of your trader and the server it's on so I can take a peek would be great.

You are welcome to check out my spells on my mule 'Becka' on EMarr. As a general observation, I'd carry a full stock of all the GoD rune spells if you can manage it. Some sell fast, some sell slow, but they do all sell, and if you have the breadth of inventory, you will get a steady trickle of sales.

In terms of class, shamen and cleric spells sell the fastest by far, mainly becuase people have them as their healing bots for duoing.

Beastlord GoD/PoP spells sell well becuase many beastlords either didn't get flagged for the zones where these spells dropped, or reached the higher levels too late to get their PoP spells.

One of the things that works well for me (though it was time consuming) was running through the Lucy spell lists for each class, and compare to what is available in your bazaar. My best sellers by far have been mage spells, because no one else was making them. There are so many different 61-65 spells out there that no one bazaar merchant can stock them all. But stock as many as you can.
Pet summon spells are also good to stock for any pet class, since almost no one skips a pet spell as they level. Look for spells that don't have an upgrade, or no upgrade till 69-70(but don't forget that level 65 group spells will usually have a single target upgrade in levels 66-68).
And finally, look for special cases:
Beastlords only have five 61-62 EP spells, but one of them (Infusion of Spirit) is also a level 49 shaman spell (and only available by turning in an EP for a BL spell). As a result there are lots of extra 61 and 62 BL(except IoS) spells available, and they are generally cheap (15-500 pp on Prexus).
Mages have 19 different 61-62 EP spells because they get the whole line of focus jewelry at 61. Generally the jewelry is considered junk that is keeping you from getting the "good" spells. Because there are so many different spells, mage(non jewelry) 61-62 spells sell for 2.5k each.
Non-hybrid classes get one 61 spell that is vendor sold in PoK. These spells ARE researchable, so make sure to not make a vendor spell.

I haven't maxxed my skill yet and I'm still grinding spells. Overall, my best selling spell has been Night Fire. What necro doesn't want another DoT that has a chance of triggering GoM?

The best selling spells are the ones that you can price below your competitors and still make a profit. Look at the prices for spells on your server and find a niche. The PoP and GoD spell market on the Cazic-Thule server is brutal. There are a lot more people working on spell research now than when DoD first came out. I used to charge 30-35K for GoD spells, they now go for 9-12K and the trend is continuing downward.

I can tell you that the best selling lvl 63 spell is Protection of the Nine but that won't help at all. Because if there are just a few people aiming at skilling up (instead of selling spells) on your server, you'll be seeing 40 copies of this spell in bazaar already.

I cannot understand why skillers would make a stack each of a few spells and dump them onto the bazaar like that, but that's what's happening. Perhaps they don't have enough inventory space. Perhaps they cannot go to Corathus everyday to refill spells.

Knowing the best selling spells won't help. Find niche markets on your server. For some servers, it's druid spells, for others it's cleric spells. For some servers, there's less competition on lvl 63 spells than lvl 65 spells. Check bazaar for holes. Being the only seller of a less popular spell is sometimes better than competing with 40 copies of Protection of the Nine selling at 1k each.

Equip your trader with as many different spells as you can (best is of course 80) and only 1-3 copies each. That means you must be able to refill everyday, either using a vast portion of your bank space to store materials or go to Corathus everyday.
