  • DoDH Research supplies

I looked, but do not see a similar question anywhere, and just want to be sure. I do not have the DoDH expansion, but want to practice up research using the solutions, etc. (59 Necro alt at skill 201 now)

Is anything bought from CC vendors No Drop? Or can I send a "shopper" with a list (maybe an extensive list) to buy me some supplies, and bring them back to me? I know I need the Spell research kit, plus a bundle of ink and quill parts, but nothing looks like I MUST have DoDH to make some spells. I can buy the parchments in Baz, so just wanted to check to see if I was on the right track.

Thanks to all who check these boards.

Unless there's something about the spell research kit, you should be fine. I keep an alt camped in CC and transfer stuff to my main through the shared bank when I don't feel like running out there.

Also, if you have the PoR expansion, all the supplies are also sold in rellic (no banker though).

The problem will be convincing somebody to run back and forth for you

At some point, when you actually start making spells, you will need to be by the vendor yourself. There are just way too many ingredients and sub-combines involved. Unless you are going to clear out your entire bank so you can load up on stacks of the ingredients, you will find it very tough to do the spells.

Most of the components for DoD research are also sold in Abysmal Sea - for pure water, cleanser, solutions, thickeners, drying powder. The ink and quill components and the kit itself are only sold in CC, but they're not No Drop that I recall.

Making actual spells would be a major pain though unless you have enough bank/alt space to load up a stack or several of each ink and quill. Although making them as needed is kind of a pain anyway .
