    Too hard for Journeyman level

I have a level 24 wizard with a spell research skill of 170, there is no way for him to get the Highland Sludge for the Journeyman torphy. While I do not mind working for the reward, requiring me to be able to go to a key only zone and then fight level 68 mobs is a bit much. Have never seen this item on a vender or in the bazaar. Guild is no help as we are not a raiding guild.

Just as an update: Have been checking merchants and bazaar for days, even oftered 10k plat to a raid going into KT - no luck. This needs to get changed to something any spell researcher can do. Please.

Been working on this task myself, so far it's been rather easy to do. The highland sludge wasn't a problem in the first place as I had been gathering them for working on Runic Parchment spells.

I see no problems with KT as a zone. The mobs are easy, they may hit hard at 65, but outside of named, nothing is going to kill a lvl 70 tank there outright, and considering the mobs have next to nothing for Hps, it's really fast exp too.

If anyone on Drinal needs highland sludge, shoot me a tell. I've got well over a stack of it on an alt.

Will trade for Yaeth pg. 50 left

hmm..I need to look up whatever recipe we need for it. I thought all that was needed was a shaman to put it in their Alchemy bag.
yes. But, it is spread across 5 tables, and does NOT give me information like "this zone is locked"

or I run a query that takes about 45 minutes per item.

Basically it is a time thing. I just do not have time to look up everything, and then even then I do not necessarily get enough information.

and before I am accused of being "lazy" like I was by someone in another post... shure... I could do this, but I would get maybe 100 recipes an expansion for you guys, instead of the 1600 I got you this time... And while 1600 seems small... I also did "cash" loot (loot who's only purpose is to sell to make money) for the expansion, recipe books. Alchemy took extra time, and the trophy's... I made about 2000 lines of script for... (and reduced it to about 500 lines of script with optimizations).

I made some checks... mostly to be sure that the stuff dropped in general. But I did not make the detailed checks.

You could just ask on this board.

Any high skill researcher would have told you instantly that Highland Sludge comes from Kod`Taz. It was THE bottleneck for me when I was in the GoD spell business.

              Or is that not allowed?

Well yes, he could ask, but he would have to list the THOUSANDS of items that are being used in the recipes.
It's a something that didn't get brought up in Beta I guess. I just think rare items in flagged zones are not appropriate for general tradeskill quests. Not everyone is level 70 who does tradeskills.

Only one part is holding me completely up and that's the Rune of Draught for Circle of Winter. Can anyone please give me some hints about where to find these?

                        I Changed this.

Unfortunately it needs a full patch and the next one is scheduled 3/14 (I have no control over this)

Thanks Ngreth. I just managed to finish this task. I was able to find filtered highland sludge in the bazaar. It then took a few days to find yaeth pg 50 left in the bazaar. I tried camping this in a few spots without success. Camping it probably would have driven me nuts.

For those of us that already have the partially done task, will we have to drop it and get another, or can we finish the one we're working on (using the powder)?

                            Thanks,

Ngreth said in another thread that as long as you already turned it in you should be fine.

For a lot of this stuff I said screw active farming and I set up a buyer with a tempting offer for the components I needed (like 1kpp for yaeth 50 left). Eventually you will either find it rotting on a vendor, loot it when you least expect it from a mob, or (someone who just doesnt feel like setting up a trader but is looking to unload some trash loot) will see a buyer that wants it and will gladly dump it for a sure 1kpp (or whatever). I picked up Yaeth's, Rune of Draught, Highland Sludge, and a few others (roughly half of my research task components as well as some of the others from the other 7 main TS tasks) in this manner. Call it passive farming.

If you can't maintain a Buyer during your off hours, maybe a guildmate has one and will add a couple items to their list for you?
