How do I get above 200?

Hi All,

I have been maxxed out at 200 for some time now even though I have done quite a few combines since reaching it. I do have jewelery above 200 does this mean research wont go over 200? The AA " new tanaan mastery" only works for the 6 basic tradeskills, is there one for research? Or, have I simply been having bad luck and just not getting the skillups and eventually it will go above 200 if i keep trying? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You don't need AA to go above 200 in research... sounds like you're just having a spot of bad luck. This happens to everyone at some point(s).

How do I get above 200?

Seems to me the unanswered question is "How does one get research skill over 200?" The reply seems vague. Is there no way to put training points into this? The PoK NPCs can't train one higher than that.

If the only way to increase skill over 200 is to practice, what is the best/cheapest way?

Expanding my answer on the "should i make dodh spells?" thread:
The EASIEST way is to do parchment solutions and/or clean the relevent parchments. Vellum trivs at 203, fine vellum at 216 and runic at 243. After that, level 62 spells triv at 262, level 63 at 292, level 64 at 322 and level 65 at 343.
I was at 217 when dodh research was added and continued to make the old style spells till 227 as I had a mule full of runes, pages and words. There are far less sub-combines for old spells but getting the right combinations to make old spells is more of a pain than farming saltpeters and sulfur and making up aqua and acid.
So IMO best way to 227 is parchment solutions, cheapest way is old spells.
